That's rather unfortunate. :-( The intel mesa drivers were also
blacklisted for quite some time a while back. I'm not really sure what we
did to get blacklisted or what we did to get unblacklisted.

Mesa only supports the non-spatial temporal deinterlace (deint=3). I'm
guessing that due to some unfortunate issues, you're no longer getting
hw accelerated video decoding. Check in vdpauinfo to make sure that
it's indeed showing the relevant codec as supported. If not, you can
turn that back on by updating to mesa 11.2.2, or downgrading your
kernel to 4.2 or earlier. (The issue only

Some additional data:
- putting LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1 in /etc/environment makes indeed the

- I still get lock-up using mesa from git (17.2~git1705081930.25d2 from

Im not going to go into detail, but in short why not! :D
I have an industry app which I wont name yet, but is a relatively standard CAD-like 3D windows application. Im using x2go based on Nomachine/NX libraries for remote X desktop to Ubuntu. My 3D application tests for opengl or directx when it starts. At the moment when run with wine the

[RFC] Merge of a reincarnation of the nouveau classic mesa driver.
For a long time the gallium pipe drivers for nvidia fixed function cards
(nv0x, nv1x and, to some extent, nv2x) have remained unmaintained and
godforsaken -- especially nv0x and nv1x had seen almost no progress
since their creation.
They've recently grown a classic mesa driver which implements many new
features: texturing, hardware-accelerated tnl. However the killer
feature is "it

not mean much I'm afraid :-(

glmark2: high CPU usage - DRI3 & modeset
did the test result changed in any way? Maybe the DRI2 run was vsynced and the
DRI3 not?
Nouveau has a pretty high cpu usage in general, because it usually busy waits on
fences (I think? not sure where it was exactly that nouveau is busy waiting)
