ATI not supporting dpms
This workbox was thrown together with only a little bit of thought as to what the role would ultimately be, and at the time, I did not think it would ever wind up serving linux applications. Error #1 (my fault) Having a healthy pocketbook when I went into pick things up, I had already decided I wanted a good relatively mid-range graphics card, and I chose the ATI X600. (Error #2) As it turns

[HELP] DPMS
Hi, I'm Yves and I'm new to this list. I use Wine as Win98 but without Windows, on a ReiserFS directory. Every once in a while, I try to run a dos program in wcmd (unix compiled & launched). My main purpose is to test Atari ST emulators. Always, the dos program wants to access memory in "real mode". There's something about the first 64Ko of memory, then it always ends

[PATCH 1/2] drm/nouveau/dispnv04: Grab/put runtime PM refs on DPMS on/off
The code claims to grab a runtime PM ref when at least one CRTC is active, but that's not actually the case as we grab a runtime PM ref whenever a CRTC is enabled regardless of it's DPMS state. Meaning that we can end up keeping the GPU awake when there are no screens enabled, something we don't really want to do. Note that we fixed this same issue for nv50 a while ago in: commit

DPMS
I'm having a problem with my monitor not turning off after the screensaver times out or, after the set time for the monitor to leave suspend and then off. I have checked, and +dpms is set with correct values. Xscreensaver is set also in advanced to turn off after 30 minutes. Have tried other times, but still does not work. ACPI in bios IS disabled, but I've never had to use that

DPMS or hardware
List, I've been bugged by the fact that the dpms function will not work on this machine, and perhaps now I have some clue as to why. Looking at the Xorg.0.log, I see where "Open APM failed (/dev/apm_bios) (No such file or directory)" which tells me perhaps this is the reason why it won't turn off the monitor. Also, this line prior to the other. `fonts.dir' not

MATE power save and dpms
So, I am using MATE from EPEL as my desktop on one of my laptops. The screen saver was working, however the monitors (if connected via a docking station) were not going to sleep even if selected via the GUI mate power manager. I then discovered that dpms has to be initialized via the command line before it becomes available, regardless of the GUI mate power manager setting. This documentation
