[Somewhat OT] Integrating RSpec and RCov results in Gem''s RDoc
I have a Gem on which the testing is done with RSpec. I would like to include the results of RSpec and the RCov html files in the RDoc. The problem is that when I have RDoc include the files, it winds up escaping all the html. Is there a way to get HTML into RDoc unprocessed? Or is there some other way I can distribute the RSpec/RCov results with my Gem integrated with RDoc? I can include

[rspec-rails] Is it bad form to use spec/requests/*_spec.rb for integration tests?
So I wanted to cook up a quick integration test for something, and I''m using rspec. I personally just don''t like Cucumber - just a personal preference, not a slam to the test framework at all - and wanted to stick to just pure rspec. So I dumped a quick spec file in spec/ reqests and ran it, and of course everything works. But is this considered bad form, or a less-than-good

Using Standard Integration Tests with RSpec
Hi there. I am using RSpec for unit and functional testing on a project. I have however found the (experimental) RSpec stories to be un-intuitive in some situations. The RSpec plugins seems to disable the standard Rails Tests, so how could I go about usng Integration tests alongside Rspec? Problem running examples with spec_server
Hello, Running RSpec without DRB works fine. However, "spec -X" runs without error but provides no output at all, even though the DRB spec_server seems to be fine. RSpec 1.0
The RSpec Development Team is extraordinarily pleased to announce the release of RSpec-1.0.0. == RSpec RSpec provides a Domain Specific Language for describing and verifying the behaviour of Ruby code with executable examples. Some people like to call these examples "tests". In fact, they are. But we believe that tests have equally important value as documentation and as a design aid,

Trying to get rspec-rails working.
Hi, I have a rails 2.3.3 app I am migrating to 2.3.11. In the process I am adding bundler support. When I add rspec and rspec rails (1.3.4) to my gemfile, then try to install rspec-rails per the instructions (here https://github.com/dchelimsky/rspec/wiki/rails) using the config.gem method link, I can''t get the script/generate rspec command to work (I am told rspec generator not

RSpec''d plugin in a non-RSpec rails app?
I have a plugin that uses RSpec, and it''s being used by a Rails app that does not otherwise use RSpec (and does not want to). I can install the RSpec gem, but of course there is no RSpec-on-Rails gem. And I wouldn''t really want to include the whole rspec-on-rails plugin inside my plugin, even if such a thing would work. Yet it would be nice if the app''s continuous

Using rspec in a non-rails project w/ autotest
Not sure if anyone needs this, but I have successfully been running rspec/trunk with autotest for a few days now on a non-rails project. The process is pretty simple: 1. Put rspec into vendor/plugins/rspec (on externals, or simply frozen) 2. Add autotest/discover.rb: Autotest.add_discovery do "myproj" end 3. Add autotest/myproj.rb: require File.dirname(__FILE__) +

Rspec not finding my examples
I am following the examples in chapter 2 of "Rails 3 in Action" and for some reason I have to specify the full path + file name to get my specs to run. The book and rspec docs led me to believe that I should be able to just type ''rspec'' and rspec would find any spec files in a directory called spec. I even tried adding a .rspec file with "--default_path spec"
