Problems in using GMM for calculating linear regression
Hi,
I'm trying to use gmm package in order to calculate linear regression (I
need to use the gmm for other application and this is a prior test I'm
doing).
I've defined a function for linear regression with 2 variables (x[,1] holds
the y values, while x[,2:3] holds the x values):
function(tet, x)
{
 m1 <- (x[,1] - (tet[1] + tet[2] * x[,2] + tet[3] * x[,3])) * x[,2]
 m2 <-

Mbuf Clusters on 4.8
Ive been googling quite a bit now for problems with
running out of mbuf
clusters. Im basically sending a 30k datachunk down
1000-4000 connections,
but 1000 is more than enough to quickly fill upp 8192
mbuf clusters. I also
tried setting maximum amount of mbuf clusters to 65536,
but that only made
the box hard-wire 86MB of 96MB RAM, making it just as
unsuable as a dead
machine.

Compiling R on Fedora with threaded openblas
Dear List,
I am trying to build R on Fedora against a threaded openblas installed from
Fedora's yum repos, or alternatively swap out libRblas.so with a threaded
openblas built locally.
I have installed
$ yum list installed | grep openblas

BTRFS, getting darn slower everyday
Hi,
I have 4 machines, all converted to BTRFS about 6 months ago, now all
running Ubuntu Quantal with kernel 3.5.0-17
The matter is that all these machines are now getting slower and slower
everyday, every disk access causing the disk to be 100% busy for long
periods, to the point that I''m now seriously considering migrating
everything back to ext4...
From the start BTRFS was "not

R 3.1 breaks RStudio in Fedora 20?
Hi All
I just installed R 3.1 on fedora 20 after removing rstudio
# rpm -q R
R-3.1.0-5.fc20.x86_64
after I removed rstudio (I don't use it that much but need it for teaching)
I tried to reinstall rstudio but its missing libRblas.so and libRlapack.so
dependencies
I'm guessed it would be OK to force it because lapack-devel and blas-devel
are installed so I tried
# rpm -ivh --no-deps

I want a Fedora 20 system to be a member server and offer a share in a Windows 2008R2 Active Directory domain
I'm close to making this work. The goal is to make this Fedora 20 system pretend to be a Windows member server in my Windows 2008R2 Active Directory domain and then I'll use it as a backup target. When I run ADUC from my domain controller, I see my F20 system named nfsa. But from Windows, when I do Start...\\nfsa, I get an Access Denied error and it prompts for credentials. When I do
