[PATCH] bios/fan: hardcode the fan mode to linear
This is an oversight that made use of the trip-point-based fan managenent on
cards that never expose those. This led the fan to stay at fan_min.
Fortunately, the emergency code would kick when the temperature would reach
90°C.

[PATCH 0/2] nv50, nvc0: fix weirdo zs formats and their blits
There were reports of issues with gallium-nine. It's unclear whether mesa/st
uses these, the patches did not produce any piglit changes. However they seem
right...

yay for zfs
This zfs looks great!
I really hope this gets put into solaris soon since I don''t think I could live with Solaris express on a production machine.
The easy of adding disk and moving directories looks like a life saver, especially for me who deals with trying to store digital media which piles up a couple of gig a day!

gWidgets (tcltk): problem extracting values from widgets in glayout grid
Hello,
I haven't been able to find an example for the second case below -- or
perhaps I didn't recognize it when I saw it.
Is there a value for x such that svalue(x) will return "bbb", either by
itself or as part of an array? Or do I need to do something else
entirely?

Converting code from MATLAB to R
Hi,
I'm having trouble converting code from MATLAB to R; I want to find the
equivalence to MATLAB's function 'fsolve'. I've tried 'nlm', on the
squared argument, in R but i did not get the same results.
Thankful if helped.
Best regards,
Martin Englund

drm/nve0/disp: Fix HDMI InfoFrame initialisation.
Hi.
(sorry for non-threaded reply, I expected to receive my own "git
send-email"-generated post)
This patch is an RFC, with at least 3 things to change before it could
be committed:
- commented-out NV84_DISP_SOR_HDMI_PWR_STATE_ON test: what is this
needed for ? I couldn't find an equivalent in my trace, but maybe I
just didn't do what is needed to generate these writes

drm/nve0/disp: Fix HDMI InfoFrame initialisation.
Prior to this change, some screen models would display a 2px-large purple line
along left screen border, likely to complain about invalid InfoFrame content.
The following bug report seems to trigger this issue:

[PATCH] drm/nouveau/clock: fix support for more than 2 monitors on nve0
Fixes regression introduced in commit 70790f4f
"drm/nouveau/clock: pull in the implementation from all over the place"
When code was moved from nv50_crtc_set_clock to nvc0_clock_pll_set,
the PLLs it is used for got limited to only the first two VPLLs.
nv50_crtc_set_clock was only called to change VPLLs, so it didn't
limit what it was used for in any way. Since nvc0_clock_pll_set is

Is binary firmware still necessary for GTX660 card (NVE0 family) in order to use DRM and/or VDPAU video acceleration?
Hi Martin,
if you refer to my kernel version. 3.10.17 is the latest, stable version in
the official gentoo repository for the amd64 architeture. See here
[4] https://packages.gentoo.org/package/sys-kernel/gentoo-sources?full_cat
As long as I do not miss any features, I stay with the stable version.
Hence, if I understand you correctly, there are kernel version (newer than

Hi,
just a note for everybody who stumble across this thread in the future in
order to bring this thread to a proper end.
If I run the kernel with
nouveau.debug="PVP=debug,PBSP=debug,PPPP=debug"
I see messages about the firmware files gettings loaded. If the firmware files are
missing, I get some warnings/errors. So far everything works as expected.
But if I invoke
