[PATCH] nv10/exa: Spring-cleaning
* Kill the A8+A8 hack. Recent enough X servers (>=1.7) fall back to
ARGB glyphs for drivers not supporting A8 render targets.
* Kill all the global state. It doesn't matter a lot yet but it might
if we get multicard working at some point.
* Other random clean-ups with no functional changes.
Some numbers from x11perf -aa10text -aa24text -comppixwin10 -comppixwin500:

texture dimension limits in ddx
in nv10_exa.c :
check_texture does :
if (w > 2046 || h > 2046)
NOUVEAU_FALLBACK("picture too large, %dx%d\n", w, h);
check_render_target does :
if (w > 4096 || h > 4096)
return FALSE;
So we have different size limits for the source and the destination ?
Another thing is that nv20 uses nv10_exa.c code, and the limit in

Would be nice if someone could glance at this... I suppose I could
also compare object files. Yeah, I should probably do that.

Some cosmetic NV10TCL method changes.
The attached patch does the cosmetic renouveau.xml changes I
proposed. I'm about to reply myself with some other patches to update
libdrm and then fix the API break up.

PICT output?
hi, all. I use R on a unix (linux) box and am quite happy with it.
However, sometimes I need to create a graph that needs to be used with
Microsoft Word or Powerpoint (ug). I can create a png or jpeg format
picture, but the text look pretty crummy because jpeg is bitmapped. I
can also create a PS/EPS version (my preference), but then it doesn't
display properly in word or powerpoint (but it

has_and_belongs_to_many dual insert error ?
Hi !
(See references at the end)
I have a slight problem. Whenever I save one of my domain models, which
contains an has_and_belongs_to_many relationship with another one, the
relationships are doubled.
My domain is a series of pictures, where each picture can be tagged with
one or more words. So, a picture of my dog could be tagged "Jordy, Dog,
Dog 2005", for example.

[PATCH v2 5/7] nvc0: refactor TIC uploads to allow different specifics per generation

Decoding for ambisonic Ogg audiob
The prospect of people actually putting B-format audio (via the panner
or directly input) into Ogg/Vorbis brings an interesting challenge:
What do we do with the audio after decoding it?
The following sane options exist:
A) Simply output the B-format audio
B) Produce a downmix
1) Mono.
2) Stereo blumlein crossed pairs
3) Stereo UHJ
4) binaural
C) Produce speaker feeds

For now pixmaps will only be tiled if driver pixmaps are being used
and we're told to with the NOUVEAU_CREATE_PIXMAP_TILED usage hint.

Video Plugin
Hi,
I've read the following message concerning the compiz video plugin:
http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/compiz/2007-March/001576.html
I've patched mplayer, but the xserver patch doesn't seem to apply
cleanly to xserver-1.3. Is there an updated patch for this, or is one
even still necessary?
Also, is there any work in something like a gstreamer plugin for the
compiz video?

[PATCH] nv30/exa : cleanup from nv40 exa
This has two purposes :
- cleaner code
- reduce the diff between nv30 and nv40 exa for a possible nvfx_exa merge ?
The main differences seem to be that nv30 uses rect texture format (and does
not support repeat on that). Then there are some minor changes in TX_FORMAT
RT_FORMAT and TEX_FILTER usage. And NVAccelInitNVx0TCL look complete
different.
Tested with:
./rendercheck -t

I have a complicated problem that includes several components:
R

PDF
Using R (and a slew of RTF commands), I assemble a text document with an RTF extension. The document contains text, tables, and images (JPEG format, previously created with R).
To ?import? the JPEG images into the document, I use the following R code:

win.metafile and Linux
Hi Folks,
I see that people have been discussing the win.metafile device
on the list since before 2000.
Yet I have never seen this on a Linux distribution of R.
Is this because the device works by making calls (GPL calls of
course!) to a proprietary Windows library?
In that case I can understand that it would be far from kosher to
implement it on Linux. But I'd like confirmation.

[LLVMdev] Dependence Analysis [was: Flow-Sensitive AA]
Great, thanks! How much work do you think it will take to bring it up
to date with the LLVM IR, except *ignoring* first-class structs and
arrays for now? I believe llvm-gcc does not generate those in most
cases and we can do a lot without supporting those. What else is
missing relative to the current LLVM IR?
Thanks,
