Re: dragging windows leaves traces -- running older GeForce drivers on newer cards
From: Robin Mordasiewicz <robin at bullseye.tv> > I have an excellent nvidia graphics card, I get excellent fps, all agp > features are installed correctly etc. In Windows or Linux? And by "all agp features are installed correctly," what do you mean and how are you getting this? > When I drag windows around wit hthe opaque settings on it leaves traces > for a

ZFS Web administration interface
I don''t seem to have access to the web administration interface. It worked fine up to svn_B37, but B38 and B39 don''t appear to have it deployed. I can start the web console server "/usr/sbin/smcwebserver start" and log in as root but ZFS does not appear in the list of applications. Is there something additional I need to do? rgenoud for multiple chips: does a more recent special version of "snow" exist?
Dear everyone, I am trying to run rgenoud on several chips simultaneusly. I used the instructions provided on Jasjeet Sekhon's Homepage (http://sekhon.berkeley.edu/rgenoud/multiple_cpus.html). However, I have the newer version of R (R 2.12) installed - for a 64-bit machine. So, when I tried to install the special version of "snow" from a zip file provided by Jasjeet on his page, R

3.20-pre5 vesamenu works pretty well in ATI and Intel VGA chips
The 3.20-pre5 vesamenu works pretty well in ATI (Radeon Mobility M6) and Intel VGA chips (82865G Integrated). Awesome! If I remove the png file, it will fall back to the text mode. Just one more question, I'd like to make this text mode color looks like that default one in menu.c32, but when I use "MENU COLOR ..." to change the setting, it seems no affect. Where am I wrong? If it can

[ANNOUNCE] xf86-video-chips 1.3.0
This is a maintenance release of Chips & Technologies DDX for X.Org X Server. No testing has been done due to the lack of equipment availability. Please note that the code may not compile against X Server 1.20 since it no longer supports 24-bit color. The DDX compiles cleanly without compilation warnings on X Server 1.19.6. [ANNOUNCE] xf86-video-chips 1.4.0
This is a bug fix release of Chips & Technologies DDX for X.Org X Server. There was an X Server crash bug with the Version 1.3 and older code when the code was converted for a newer vgaHW ABI. This affects devices older than the HiQVideo generation. This release fixes this particular issue. Please note that the code may not compile against X Server 1.20 since it no longer supports 24-bit

Broadcom chips: TOE or no TOE?
Last time I checked (but that was a while ago) TOE (TCP Offloading Engine) was not supported very well, at least not with Broadcom chips. Did anything change in that regard recently? More specifically, the chip I'm looking at is Broadcom NetXtreme II 5709 and the distribution is 5.3 Any luck with proprietary drivers? Any problems those drivers may cause with bonding? -- Florin Andrei

Read in 250K snp chips
I'm having trouble getting summaries out of the 250K snp chips in R. I'm using the oligo package and when I attempt to create the necessary SnpQSet object (to get genotype calls and intensities) using snprma, I encounter memory issues. Anyone have an alternative package or workaround for these large snp chips? -- View this message in context:

How to analysis Y98 chips using RankProd package?
Dear R and Bioconductor Helpers, I am using a package called RankProd under Bioconductor to analysis my Y98 (yeast) microarray data. I had no problem following the example in the vignette but got stocked when I tried to analyze my own data. When I tried to run the following command, RP.out <- RP(rrf.sub, rrf.cl.sub, gene.names = y98.gnames, rand = 123) I got the following response: Rank

[PATCH 04/12] drm/nouveau/bar/nvc0: support chips without BAR3
Adapt the NVC0 BAR driver to make it able to support chips that do not expose a BAR3. When this happens, BAR1 is then used for USERD mapping and the BAR alloc() functions is disabled, making GPU objects unable to rely on BAR for data access and falling back to PRAMIN. atheros chips dangerous?
Hello, Possibly some of you will have read the news about "Hijacking a Macbook in 60 Seconds or Less"[1]. At this time I was searching a wireless card for my server and I wonder how this can affect to the combination FreeBSD+ath(4). The ath_hal page states that FreeBSD use a binary driver and I think it is located in this file[2]. Unlike OpenBSD which affirms that they have
