Second Monitor left of internal monitor turns internal monitor black
Hi there, a few days ago I installed Ubuntu Gnome 14.04 on my Thinkpad W530. It has the following specifications: Intel Core i7-3820QM Intel HD 4000 and nVidia Quadro K2000M 15,6" FHD RGB 1920x1080 I selected "Optimus" in the BIOS settings to activate both graphic cards. After installing the nouveau driver on Ubuntu via 'apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-nouveau' I was

Second Monitor left of internal monitor turns internal monitor black
Hi Ilia, with 'xrandr --output LVDS1 --auto --output VGA-1-2 --auto --left-of LVDS1' it seems to work properly. Thank you. Do you know about a tool which integrates well in Ubuntu? Maybe a GUI for xrandr? The other option would be to use some bash script, which also is okay for me. Just for your information the outputs of 'xrandr -q' and 'xrandr --listproviders': nicolas

DP MST with GK107 and lenovo ultra dock
Hi Ilia, thanks for your reply. > DP-MST support was first added to nouveau for precisely these kinds of > setups. It does, generally, work, so that means there's something > extra-special about your setup. Yes... this is what it looks like. Even the proprietary driver, which works after bootup, has its problems with the setup after multiple consecutive VT switches (e.g. after

dnsmasq centos 7
HI I setup dnsmasq on my computer. I tested with an entry in /etc/hosts for laptop.w530 I tested with "host laptop.w530" and I get unresolved (expected). If I add "nameserver 192.168.1.8" (my computer) to top of /etc/resolv.conf and do "host laptop.w530" I get 192.168.1.105 - so seems to be working. Then I goto another machine, add the "nameserver

Re: Wow crach.. I use bumblebee to activate nvidia optimus
I also struggled with this, but finally got it to work. I had to skip the -opengl opion and only run it as optirun wine Wow*exe No problems and no cashes during install. Somebody also hinted setting operating system to Windows7 in winecfg. Other hints were to download the corefonts and ie8 with winetricks, and, ofc, you also need wine_gecko from you own distro, otherwise wine will complain or

[PATCH] drm/nouveau: consider CLASS_DISPLAY_3D devices while detecting dsm/optimus
The present code assumes that optimus is present whenever two VGA (PCI_CLASS_DISPLAY_VGA) devices are present. This does not seem to be the case of newer laptops with optimus, in which case the nvidia gpu is a PCI_CLASS_DISPLAY_3D device. Rework the logic so that we count both VGA and 3D devices, when contemplating if optimus is present on the platform. Bugzilla:

[PATCH] drm/nouveau: only runtime suspend by default in optimus configuration
The intent was to only enable it by default for optimus, e.g. see the runtime_idle callback. The suspend callback may be called directly, e.g. as a result of nouveau_crtc_set_config. Optimus switch corrupts memory on Lenovo T440p
Hello, On new Lenovo T440p laptops with new BIOSes (1.16 and further) there is a memory corruption when trying to disable, and then re-enable, nvidia GPU. There is a bugreport for bbswitch ( https://github.com/Bumblebee-Project/bbswitch/issues/78), but this problem shows even when doing disable and re-enable with acpi_call, and nouveau has dynamic power management support too. I have been trying
