[PATCH 1/3] nv50: enable h264 and mpeg4 for nv98+ (vp3, vp4.0)
Create the ref_bo without any storage type flags set for now. The issue probably arises from our use of the additional buffer space at the end of the ref_bo. It should probably be split up in the future. [PATCH] nouveau/video: make sure that firmware is present when checking caps
Apparently some players are ill-prepared for us claiming that a decoder exists only to have creating it fail, and express this poor preparation with crashes (e.g. flash). Check that firmware is there to increase the chances of there being a high correlation between reported capabilities and ability to create a decoder. [PATCH 00/10] Add support for MPEG2 and VC-1 on VP3/VP4 for NV98-NVAF
As it turns out, with the proprietary firmware, the VP3 and VP4 interfaces are identical. Furthermore, this is all already implemented for nvc0. So these patches (a) move the easily sharable bits of the nvc0 implementation into the nouveau directory, and then (b) implement the other parts in nv50. The non-shared parts are still largely copies, but there are some differences, not the least of which

[mesa 7/9] nv50: fix g98+ vdec class allocation
From: Ben Skeggs <bskeggs at redhat.com> The kernel previously exposed incorrect classes for some of the chipsets that this code supports. It no longer does, but the older object ioctls have compatibility to avoid breaking userspace. This needs to be fixed before switching over to the newer interfaces. Rather than hardcoding chipset->class like the rest of the driver does, this makes

Questions on Falcon Command Processor
So now I'm to looking to implement NVDec and as far as I know the game submits a series of commands to the service. This commands are processed by Falcon and then it does its magic. Do you guys got any RE on Falcon commands and how they execute different workloads ? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

vp3 hang on mplayer exit (for GT240 videocard) - workaround found?
Apparently, this hang can be fixed at small performance cost by setting NOUVEAU_VP3_DEBUG_FENCE 1 (as opposed to default 0) in https://cgit.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/tree/src/gallium/drivers/nouveau/nouveau_vp3_video.h Now, what exactly fixes my hangs (or make them less severe) - still open question, guess I can flip few of those debug defines and try to find out ... [PATCH] drm/nouveau/vdec: copy nvc0 bsp/vp/ppp to nv98
For NV98+, BSP/VP/PPP are all FUC-based engines. Hook them all up in the same way as NVC0, but with a couple of different values. Also make sure that the PPP engine is handled in the fifo/mc/vm. Signed-off-by: Ilia Mirkin <imirkin at alum.mit.edu> --- It seems like VP4.0 is basically working here... only mpeg2/vc1 work, but I'm pretty sure that's just a user-side issue. My guess is

[PATCH 0/5] Thermal management fixes
From: Martin Peres <martin.peres at labri.fr> This patchset is mostly about fixing fdo bug #66177, reported by Dash Four. This bug is about fan/temp management not working after a suspend/resume cycle. Fan/therm management relies on ptimer's alarm feature to call periodically multiple callbacks that poll the temperature and update the fan speed if needed. The problem is that there is

[PATCH 1/2] drm/nouveau/bios/therm: handle vbioses with duplicate entries (mostly nva5)
From: Martin Peres <martin.peres at labri.fr> Some vbioses have extra useless entries after "the end" of the table. This is problematic since all of the vbios I found with this issue redefine the pwm freq divider to insane levels (52750 Hz instead of 2500), thus breaking fan management. The first solution to solve this mess would be to change the length of the table. The solution
