[LLVMdev] Is there a guide to LLVM's components?
One thing that helps me understand complex software is a dependency graph. I found an LLVM dependency graph at https://llvm.org/svn/llvm-project/llvm/tags/RELEASE_16/docs/UsingLibraries.html#dependencies but it's really messy and hard to follow. From that graph I made a cleaner graph by hand (attached)... sorry about the fax-quality scan. But I have some questions about it... -

The bottom of the bug has the revision numbers (e.g. D34035). That one corresponds to e.g. https://reviews.llvm.org/D34035 There's also https://reviews.llvm.org/D34634 which contains all of Peter's patches, but it's not going to rebase cleanly once the individual patches start going in. At a guess that looks like your llvm and lld checkouts are not quite in synch. It will be worth updating llvm and lld to top of trunk. I've rebased the consolidated patch https://reviews.llvm.org/D34634 this morning, it might be worth trying that if you are seeing problems. [LLVMdev] Why are LLVM libraries enormous?
I am considering using LLVM in a project for a Windows CE where space is at a premium. My jaw dropped when I checked the size of HowToUseJIT.exe (VC++ Win32 debug): 15.4 MB! The release build of HowToUseJIT is "only" 3.39 MB, but this is still 85% larger than the binary to which I was thinking of adding LLVM. The top ten LLVM libraries (Win32 *.lib) are pretty huge: Release Bld Debug

[LLVMdev] Cygwin patch
I have the PIC stuff building properly on Cygwin now, patch attached. But unfortunately it does not pass the test/Feature/load_module.ll test in 'make check' though, that needs debugging at some stage, but I have wasted enough time on this patch now, atleast SVN LLVM should compile on Cygwin now. The following adds libraries for Cygwin and also for MinGW (not tested) where Linux's

Having the test-suite at projects/test-suite was harmless to the old autoconf and LLVM 3.7.x's cmake builds because it didn't actually cause the test-suite to be built. The CMakeLists.txt that have been added to the test-suite now cause it to be built by LLVM's build system which introduces the build failure. We

Okay, the problem with this cycle is LoopSimplify. It is using AliasAnalysis which is where that _ZN4llvm11BasicAAStubEv symbol is coming from. It seems to me that LoopSimplify.cpp is in the wrong place. This file defines the LoopSimplify FunctionPass which doesn't seem to me to be a "transform util". I thought the purpose of "Transforms/Util" was to provide utilities
