RFC: Towards unified semantic for casts
Looks pretty reasonable to me - with test cases. (not sure if dereferenced_type should be defined for a type that's not dereferenceable, though?) MachineVerifier and undef
Thanks Krzysztof. That's very helpful - I was missing the distinction between a register containing an undefined value and a register marked as containing an undefined value. Cheers! [RFC 0/2] Propose a new pointer trait.
Hi, I'm part of an engineering team doing research on persistent memory support and we have stumbled upon an interesting problem. The issue is, we would like to be able to use the standard library containers in a persistent memory context (think NVDIMM-N). What I mean is that you allocate a container from said memory, use it like you normally would. After the application terminates, expectedly

RTTI with smart pointers
Hi, I would like to use std::shared_ptr in my pass. However I'm facing a problem wrt RTTI. If I have a code like: std::shared_ptr<BaseClass> x(new DerivedClass()); ... std::shared_ptr<DerivedClass> p = std::dynamic_pointer_cast<DerivedClass>(x); It does not compile since the default RTTI infrastructure is not used by LLVM. Also, it's not clear to me if the

[LLVMdev] Optimizing class casts away
Dear all, I am trying to remove some instanceof tests from bc code that is produced by vmkit. For instance: 1 if (o instanceof String) { 2 String s = (String)o; 3 } Vmkit seems to be inserting two tests into the bc code: one for the test in line 1, and another, implicit, that would lunch perhaps JavaClassCastException if the cast fails at runtime. Would it be possible for some of you

Problem with overloading add type casts of numeric strings in PHP bindings
Overloaded methods are mapped in PHP to their implementation (_SWIG_0, _SWIG_1, ..) based on the types and number of arguments the user supplies. However, if one overload accept a string and another an integer the bindings fail to separate them since PHP treats numeric strings much the same as integers. The problem is illustrated in WritableDatabase_replace_document() which takes either the

some improvements about the latent semantic search
Hi,all, Recently I invented a new ranking algorithm inspired by the theory of spread activation and probabilistic model, which can find the latent semantic relationship between docs and terms and is almost linear time, and I took one afternoon to code and implement this algorithm. And the testing result shows that the speed of this algorithm is much faster than the famous Latent Semantic Analysis

Solution to: Error "... x must be atomic" when using lsa (latent semantic analysis) package
In case someone else runs into this, I found the problem, it was related to having some zero-length text files. Make sure you have valid (non-empty) data files for loading into the document-term matrix. Semantic relationships between shudown.stayoff, shutdown.return, and ups.start.auto
Nut-names.txt states that 1. ups.start.auto controls whether the UPS starts when mains is (re)applied. 2. shutdown.stayoff causes "turn off the load possibly after a delay and remain even if power returns". 3. shutdown.return causes "turn off the load possibly after a delay and return when power is back". 1 seems to conflict with 2 and 3. That is, 2

[LLVMdev] llvm: is it possible to merge semantic validation and compilation in a single stage?
Generally speaking, when writing a llvm frontend, one will take an AST and first check that its semantics is well-defined. After this, one will take the AST and perform the IR build phase. I was wondering, how realistic is to perform directly the IR build phase onto the AST, and if errors are found during the build process, revert any partial changes to the module object? i assume something like

ASTCC -- semantic note of 'callstart' in cdrs?
Looking at the code, it would appear that the 'callstart' column of the cdrs table should really be called 'callend': $dialstr = "IAX2/$res->{path}/$phone|30|HL(" . ($maxtime * 60 * 1000) . ":60000:30000)"; $res = $AGI->exec("DIAL $dialstr"); $answeredtime =

Allow semantic versioning for packages
Dear R developers, (http://bugs.r-project.org/ seems to be down, so I am writing a feature request here.) It would be great to allow semantic version numbers for packages. See http://semver.org/ for details. The problem I am having is that I am setting up a nightly build server, and there is no easy way to create a version number for builds that are in between releases. Ideally I would use

Error "... x must be atomic" when using lsa (latent semantic analysis) package
Hello, I'm trying to use the "lsa" (latent semantic analysis) package, and running into a problem that seems to be related to the number of documents being processed. Here's the code I'm running (after loading the lsa and rstem packages), and the error message: > SnippetsPath <- "c:\\OED\\AuditExplain\\" # path where to find text snippets >
