[EXTERNAL] [llvm-mc] FreeBSD kernel module performance impact when upgrading clang
> You used -noinhibit-exec to ignore the diagnostic, which is usually a bad thing. I certainly agree with that. The point I was trying to make in my original email is that, specifically for kernel objects, this diagnostic is incorrect. R_X86_64_PC32 can be used safely against the symbol foo in that specific context, and should be possible without ignoring diagnostics. I wondered if there

[llvm-mc] FreeBSD kernel module performance impact when upgrading clang
Hi, I'm in the process of migrating from clang5 to clang10. Unfortunately clang10 introduced a negative performance impact. The cause is an increase of PLT entries from this patch (first released in clang7): https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36370 https://reviews.llvm.org/D43383 If I revert that clang patch locally, the additional PLT entries and the performance impact disappear. [PATCH node-image] Fix edit-livecd to re-create ext2 filesystem each time
Old edit-livecd just kept adding to the ext2 fs image which meant it never decreased in size even if files were removed. New functionality does multiple passes of ext2fs creation. First pass creates a new ext2fs from the image file inside the squashfs. This first pass is to allow the user to optionally increase the filesystem size. If the -s parameter is omitted the existing size is used and

stat() and Windows
I tried to compile FLAC on Windows (the winamp2 plugin as a test) and I encoutered a problem. The stat() function and the associated structure doesn't exist on Windows (Visual Studio 5/6). But _stat and the structure with the same name does exist. So would it be possible to change stat() and struct stat ? I did the following in the code : #define STAT(x,y) _stat(x,y) typedef struct stat

Adding a table of contents to html output using the bookdown package
I am trying to get rmarkdown with bookdown to include a table of contents in html output, and having trouble. Here is an example that I think illustrates the trouble. I have a file "test.Rmd" as follows: [127]% cat test.Rmd --- title: Test Document output: html_document: toc: true --- # Introduction some text # A section some more text [128]% If I run: library(rmarkdown)

Antw: Re: Confidence interval for the difference between proportions - method used in prop.test()
Dear Josh, Thanks for your help! Does your answer mean, that you agree the two methods should do the same, and what I was guessing, despite the small differences? What I prefer about ci.pd is, that the help clearly says which method is implemented, which is not the case for prop.test. But I do not know who has programmed the function. Best wishes Steffi Stefanie von Felten, PhD Statistician

LLVM_CONFIG_PATH when building Clang from sources
I'm trying to build LLVM, CFE and RT from sources on an old PowerMac with OS X 10.5. After download and unpack into LLVM_SOURCE_DIR (with --strip-components=1), I configure with: cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX="/opt/llvm" \ -DLLVM_TARGETS_TO_BUILD="PowerPC" \ -DLLVM_INCLUDE_TOOLS="ON" \ -DLLVM_BUILD_TESTS="ON"

Confidence interval for the difference between proportions - method used in prop.test()
Hello, Does anyone know which method from Newcombe (1998)* is implemented in prop.test for comparing two proportions? I would guess it is the method based on the Wilson score (for single proportion), with and without continuity correction for prop.test(..., correct=FALSE) and prop.test(..., correct=TRUE). These methods would correspond to no. 10 and 11 tested in Newcombe, respectively. Can

Code coverage of a rails plugin
Guys I''ve been struggling with this one for a couple of hours, and nothing seems to work here, any advice would be duly appreciated... Background: I''m busy working on a plugin called "shared_models", allowing you to easily share models between different applications, running different database or on the same database. The plugin is nearly complete, offering a

XRay Trace of Clang, Loadable through Chrome Trace Viewer
Hi cfe-dev@ and llvm-dev@, I've attached a Chrome trace-viewer readable trace of a clang built with XRay instrumentation (additional build/link flags="-fxray-instrument -fxray-instruction-threshold=75") with the latest "top-of-trunk" version of clang with the recent updates to the XRay runtime supporting record filtering. PSA: debuginfo-tests workflow changing slightly
Hi Zachary: I was able to reproduce the greendragon results locally (OSX), and fix the problem by excluding 'debuginfo-tests' from check-clang -- this prevents them from being added twice, once for check-clang and again for check-debuginfo. Below are the minimized patches I used to reproduce and fix the problem -- based on your originals. I've verified these patches work when
