Compiling for baremetal ARMv4 on Ubuntu Linux
Hello Christian,
I reran my script with a similar cmake command to yours. After the
build finished the following command from the build directory gave me:
find . -name \*builtins.a
./lib/clang/9.0.0/armv6m-none-eabi/lib/libclang_rt.builtins.a
./lib/clang/9.0.0/armv7m-none-eabi/lib/libclang_rt.builtins.a
./lib/clang/9.0.0/armv7em-none-eabi/lib/libclang_rt.builtins.a
I hope you see something like

Compiling for baremetal ARMv4 on Ubuntu Linux
Hello Christian,
I'd expect that adding the library paths (-L) from gcc -v should fix
the unable to find -lc, -lm but it won't fix the
-lclang_rt.builtins-armv6m.a . To get clang_rt.builtins-armv6m.a you
will need to cross compile compiler-rt for v6m and copy it to
/usr/local/myclang/lib/clang/8.0.0/lib/baremetal . Beware that
building compiler-rt for v6m does need quite a bit of fighting

Cross compiling for ARMv7-m
Hi,
I am trying to use LLVM/clang to build a binary for ARM Cortex M platforms.
When I build my binary the linker fails to find these libraries.

./lib/ -L ./libexec/ -L ../build3_v7m/lib/

Hi List,
I'm trying to build llvm-5.0.0 with clang-3.7.1 on ARM (native building). At some point I have the following issue :

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] triples for baremetal
Eric,
Attached are patches for llvm and clang that implement this.
I've made 'none' a component that must be added explicitly (i.e. don't turn
arm-eabi into arm--none-eabi, but rather turn it into arm--unknown-eabi) to try
to reduce surprises. It also keeps the normalization logic a bit simpler than it
would otherwise have to be.
SPIR triples were one place where I was

Hi, all
I want to use LLVM to compile an ARM Cortex-M0 project on windows. Who can send me a sample, including command arguments and introdution about debug process. Thanks a lot.

[ARM] Should Use Load and Store with Register Offset
Hello LLVM Community (specifically anyone working with ARM Cortex-M),
While trying to compile the Newlib C library I found that Clang10 was
generating slightly larger binaries than the libc from the prebuilt
gcc-arm-none-eabi toolchain. I looked at a few specific functions (memcpy,
strcpy, etc.) and noticed that LLVM does not tend to generate load/store
instructions with a register offset (e.g.

[LLVMdev] Generate code for ARM Cortex m0, m3, and m4.
Hi,
I am trying to cross compile code for ARM Cortex m0, m3, and m4.
For m0, I use:
-target armv6--eabi -mcpu=cortex-m0
That seems to work. For m3 and m4, I use the following which does not work
(fatal error: error in backend: CPU: 'cortex-m3' does not support ARM mode):
-target armv7m--eabi -mcpu=cortex-m3
and
-target armv7em--eabi -mcpu=cortex-m4

Help with setting up ARM embedded clang + lld
Hi all,
I've been doing a ton of embedded work (bare metal ARM Cortex M0+ and
M4, hopefully RISCV in the future) in the last year and would love to
start using and hacking on the llvm toolchain. I've tried setting up
clang + lld but can't get lld to work because clang tries to launch gcc.
I realize support is early but I'd love to have a dev setup so I can
help fix things.

[ARM] Should Use Load and Store with Register Offset
Hello Sjoerd,
Thank you for your response! I was not aware that -Oz is a closer
equivalent to GCC's -Os. I tried -Oz when compiling with clang and
confirmed that the Clang's generated assembly is equivalent to GCC for the
code snippet I posted above.
clang --target=armv6m-none-eabi -Oz -fomit-frame-pointer

[5.0.0 Release] The final tag is in
Dear testers,
The final version of 5.0.0 has just been tagged. There were no changes
after rc5.
Please build the final binaries and upload to the sftp.
For those following along: this means 5.0.0 is complete, but it will
take a few days to get the tarballs ready and published on the web
page. I will send the announcement once everything's ready.
Many thanks everyone for your hard work!

Compiling for baremetal ARMv4 on Ubuntu Linux
Hello again Christian,
I've posted https://reviews.llvm.org/D55709 to see if we can get the
documentation on how to cross-compile compiler-rt improved. I'll be
out of office until next year so I may be a bit slow to respond to any
follow ups.

Or not using a triple at all. Windows on ARM support is coming along,
I bet it defaults to WoA and outputs COFF or whatever.

Compiling for baremetal ARMv4 on Ubuntu Linux
I am currently trying to compile a pretty simple program to work on an
experimental board. It contains an (FPGA-version of) an ARMv4 processor.
So basically, I try this (on my Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS):
clang -v --target=arm-none-eabi -c barehello.c -o barehelloCLANG.o
clang -v --target=arm-none-eabi -c io.c -o io.o
clang -v --target=arm-none-eabi barehelloCLANG.o io.o -o
