llvm-objcopy proposal
Fantastic! Thanks for all of the input! I'll be considering all of it going forward. The plan right now is just to worry about ELF executables and nothing else. I'm very sympathetic to the "llvm-objtool" change. If everyone is cool with it I'll change the name in the next CL to "llvm-objtool". To start out I implemented a very basic ELF64LE specific bit of code.

While working on some other changes I came across a problem where ELFObjectFile::getSymbolFileOffset was returning a different value than I expected in the case where the symbol in question was a section. And I have read binutil/objdump source code and found that it has a logic that if there's no symtab, it will use dynsym, which is missing in llvm-objdump. [lld] ObjFile::createRegular is oblivious of PendingComdat
I encountered a segfault when using lld to cross-compile for Windows (+MinGW) from Linux. The problem happens with objects built by gcc. The problem is that ObjFile::CreateRegular considers a PendingComdat to be valid (and later causes an illegal pointer dereference). "IR" often refers to the general concept/semantics, not only the textual format in .ll files (there are 3 main forms - bitcode, textual IR, and the in-memory representation (llvm::Module, etc - constructed using IRBuilder)). A great place to start is to look at what Clang does to produce debug info - it uses IRBuilder, for instance. So you could look at how Clang uses the IRBuilder when
