Package request: OpenJDK 1.6 packages
Hello,
currently the c5-testing repository contains packages for OpenJDK 1.7.
The 1.7 branch is the development branch for the upcomming OpenJDK
Version 7. OpenJDK is scheduled somewhere in 2009 and for this reason
IMHO far away from being stable I'd like to request packages for the
currently stable 1.6 branch of OpenJDK.
AFAIK the Fedora project has already replaced OpenJDK 1.7 by OpenJDK

Probably OT: Has anyone else seen SeaMonkey 'pop' without warning?
I sent a bug report to Mozilla about this, but I was hoping someone here
might have an insight on this.
I use SeaMonkey as my default browser (32-bit even though I'm running x86_64
CentOS 5.1), version 1.1.7.
Shortyl after installing 1.1.7 on my 5.0 (and even since 5.1), I noticed
that every so often, seemingly at random, although it appears most
frequently when I click on something that

JetDirect Webinterface doesn't work anymore with OpenJDK Java 1.6
Hello,
after installing the openjdk 1.6 packages from centos testing the
webinterface of my hp jetdirect 300x printserver doesn't work anymore.
The webpage is loaded but the applets don't start - no java console and
no error messages are shown.
Tested with Firefox 3 Beta 5 and Opera 9.5 Beta 2
Can anyone confirm this?

Issues/thoughts re CentOS-4
This is a list of issues for discussion for CentOS-4. Most of it is
based on my experience from building/maintaining CentOS-2 and observing
CentOS-3. I have not seen the CentOS-4 beta yet so I don't know if any
of this is already done. If these have been discussed on IRC then
perhaps someone could produce a shot summary of the outcomes....?
* Just call it CentOS-4 not 4.1 etc. Too

Yum updates packages for other arch too
Hi,
I have the x86_64 arch on my server so therfore i expect that yum
updates only x86_64 packages.
With the last *yum update* i?ve noticed a strange behaviour while
retrieving the needed packeges. As you you see, yum wants install
packages for different architectures:
glibc x86_64 2.3.4-2.25 base 4.9 M
glibc i686 2.3.4-2.25 base 5.1 M

Timezone Configuration
Greetings All,
How to does one go about reconfiguring centos's time zone
configuration (to the eastern time zone (us)), via the command line?
I have tested other GNU/Linux distribution's documentation, tools,
files and relevant details with centos and have thus far been unable
to find a compatible solution.
My apologies if my question is very simple, I have done a fair amount

OT: Local Mirror problems, wrong paths to RPMs with yum update
This week I set up a local mirror for a few dists, including Centos 4.0
and 4.2, and Fedora Core 3 and 4. I'm using a script called yum-pull.
For the most part I really like the script, it automates the setup of
your mirrors and tries a bunch of different mirrors when it goes out to
get updates, if it fails on one it tries another. It uses the usual
suspects, createrepo and repoview, among

CentOS 5 and seamonkey
Has anyone had any success in rebuilding seamonkey 2.0.4 for CentOS 5
(32-bit)? I'm currently running seamonkey-2.0-1 which I rebuilt last
November. Sadly, I have no idea where the SRPM originated.
I found seamonkey-2.0.4-1.fc12.src.rpm and
seamonkey-2.0.4-1.fc12.src.rpm, downloaded and got to 0th base:

4.4 update quits unexpectedly
After 2 good updates to 4.4, my 3rd is giving me trouble. I did all 3
installs the same:
yum clean all
yum update python-sqlite sqlite yum
yum clean all
yum upgrade
This one, however, quits during the header download. I get "[Errno -1]
Header not complete, trying another mirror", then "[Errno 256] No more
mirrors to try".
I am not going thru a proxy, and I can't find
