Pseudo-instruction that overwrites its input register
The reason the ones in PPCInstrInfo.td don't have the patterns to match is
the reason they are more analogous to your problem. Namely, tblgen does not
have a way to produce nodes with more than one result. The load-with-update
instructions do exactly that - one of the inputs is also an output, but the

How exactly is datatype alignment determined?
The 8 in the data layout string should have been converted to a byte value
by this code before it was passed to setAlignment. As far as I cant ell
getAlignment should return the byte alignment that was passed to
setAlignment, not the bit alignment from the string.

Unaligned atomic load/store
Hi,
While working on the AVR target, I noticed a problem with alignment and
the various atomic operations. AVR is an 8-bit platform, and all data is
unaligned (or 8-bit aligned if you will). Here's a small piece of LLVM IR
exhibiting this (emitted by the Rust compiler):

How exactly is datatype alignment determined?
Hi,
I'm seeing a bug in the AVR backend that seems to be caused by LLVM
thinking things will be aligned to 8 bytes whereas they are unaligned.
Specifically, MF->getDataLayout().getPrefTypeAlignment(Ty) returns 8 for
the following two types:
%opt = type { i8, [0 x i8], [3 x i8] }
%Machine = type { i16, [0 x i8], i16, [0 x i8], [16 x i8], [0 x i8] }

[LLVMdev] get LPPassManager to use it in llvm::CloneLoop
Hi,
I try to write a FunctionPass that, among other tasks, has to clone some loops
from the current function.
How can I obtain the LPPassManager in order to use the CloneLoop function.
In a LoopPass this is a parameter for the runOnLoop, but how can I obtain it in
a FunctionPass?
I tried simply by creating a new instance :
ValueMap<const Value *, Value* > VMap;

While we're still working towards using NPM for optimizer pipeline by default, we still don't have a machine pass interface and the corresponding machine pass manager using NPM. The potential benefits using NPM aside, this inhibits us from making any progress on deprecating LPM for the codegen pipeline which blocks

NPM and code-size
(NPM: new pass manager; LPM: legacy pass manager)
In a first quick experiment today I compared code-size of the LMP vs. the NMP for the CSiBE benchmark (and some other), and this shows code-size increases with the NPM that would probably be unacceptable for us. So, now I am wondering how/if we need to mitigate this, and have a bunch of questions.
