vector instruction
Hello,
is there a good way to determine that the instruction is a vector
instruction? Or the only way like it's size is multiple of the operands
size?

getelementptr
Ok, thank you. I have also one question about getelementptr. In different
versions of clang I see that sometimes array[i][i] is preceded by two
getelementptr instructions and sometimes only by one - with an already
complex index.

5.5 ISO size vs RHEL
Hi
We use CentOS and RHEL, the 5.5 RHEL ISO for x86_64 is 3.7GB (**), the CentOS one
is 4602MB (***) split over two DVDs. Is this reasonable and correct? Any ideas
why would there be such a discrepancy if they are built from the same (or very
similar) source?

Anthony Caetano

New and more general Function Merging optimization for code size
Hi Hal,
Because my function merging strategy is able to merge any two function,
allowing for different CFGs, different parameters, etc.
I am unable to use just a simple hash value to compare whether or not two
functions are similar.
Therefore, the idea is to have an infrastructure which allows me to compare
whether or not two functions are similar without having traverse the two
function

dubious behavior during login
Hi,
I'm running openssh-2.3.0p1 under Tru64 4.0.
I've got the sources and built it whithout additional options.
The `problem' happens when a login from a non-existing user is attempted:
$ ssh bogus at foo.com
Connection closed by foo.com
It doesn't even ask the password. So anyone can test whether this
host has a user called bogus.
I'm not sure whether this is a bug, but I

One way dsync replication with dsync -R
So, even with a particular user only connecting to one node in the pair, you still see the issue? I'm not seeing that in my setup. I only see it when concurrently connecting the same user to two different nodes in the pair.

New and more general Function Merging optimization for code size
Hi everyone,
I'm currently working on a new function merging optimization that is more
general than the current LLVM function merging optimization that works only
on identical functions.
I would like to know if the community has any interest in having a more
powerful function merging optimization.
---- More Details ----
Up until now, I have been focusing on the quality of the code

One way dsync replication with dsync -R
Hi dovecot users,
I?ve found the -R parameter for dsync. Does this enable one-way syncing if enabled on the slave in replication_dsync_parameters? The documentation doesn?t mention much what happens if I enable this on the ?replciation slave?.
Before you ask: Two way synchronisation causes issues in my installation (see the unanswered thread here:

Samba 3.0.4 BDC LDAP Slave Problem
I've configured samba 3.0.4 with LDAP as the backend. I've configured
samba to use the ldap directory, which works fine, my problem is when I
add two two servers into the smb.conf file it sees the first(master)
ldap server, but if I bring that server down it takes forever for it to
switch to the slave ldap server. If I place just a single ldap server,
master or slave, into the

stress-test realtime voicemail with sipp
We are in the process of implementing realtime voicemail. I was wanting
to "stress-test" the system to see if or when it would fall over.
Is it possible to use sipp to create say 250 calls, each of which leaves
a message in the voicemail ?
My dialplan is currently

exten => stress,1,Answer()
exten => stress,2(vm),Voicemail(7777|su)

also true.

Every time I try to join in the Domain this machine is a user error and

DR hot/warm spare node patterns / anti-patterns?
With our without puppet. We are looking at setting up DR nodes with
some draft ideas. We use puppet against a git repository (with ppg)
instead of against a puppet server. Nodes are actually VMs.
Configuration ideas:
- a filesystem-level flag that indicates that the node is running as
standby spare, to use as conditional in bash/python scripts as well as
in puppet
- some services
