Errors for shares since 4.12.0
Hi All,
Sorry for being quiet, I was busy last days.
But tonight I am doing bisecting to find the "guilty commit" - started from
master as "bad" and v4-11-latest as "good".
Still 8 steps to test in bisecting - each one takes about half an hour (2
cores VM on the i3 cpu computer).
Will let you know.
Pawel.

Shearing file systems on the network
I have 4 systems and each one of them has a partition I'd like to be remotely
accessible on the other 3 systems.
In other words System1 has Partition1. Systems 2,3,4 should be able to
remotely mount Partition1 from System1. Also System2 has Partition2. Then
systems 1,3,4 should be able to remotely mount Partition2 from System2 and so
on.
I tried NFS and it works but only in the ideal

Playback + Replay Gain questions
I'm hoping to set up a headless system to playback my audio once I get back home after an extended leave. Ideally I'd just ssh in and use a curses based player to play back FLACs and mp3s. This leads me to a few quesitons:
1. What is the minimun processor speed needed to decode and play flac files? I have an old P100 I would like to use for the task if it is sufficient.
2. When

Errors for shares since 4.12.0
Hi,
in March I wrote a mail to the list and reported an error I got using
samba 4.12.0. I just want to inform, that I got personal mails from five
or six samba users, that had the same problem without any solution. So
I'm not the only one, who had this kind of problem. Unfortunately, I do
not have more information on this error nor a solution. Due to corona I
wasn't able to give

Thank you from a new user
Ladies and gentlemen,
A few days ago I was looking for a new radio for my '89 Isuzu Trooper
which I just rebuilt. Crutchfield is my goto supplier of audio equipment
and, much to my surprise, there is a JVC KD-X31MBS which will play FLAC
files. It is on my Christmas list.
So I am using Audex in OpenSuse 13.1 to rip my CDs. I am tired of the
windows software I was using truncating the mp3

VNC 'fix' for 256 colour game only shows 2 colours?
I'm trying to run an old (~1995) Windows game under Wine, but it requires 256 colours and won't work any higher. I've checked out the 256 colour hacks page and the X methods don't work, because I use the FGLRX drivers and they don't support 8bpp, so I'm trying VNC.
I've installed vnc-server and vnc so I can play it through a 256 colour VNC connection, but so far I can

artifacting with many channels
Hi all,
I am using oggenc to compress multichannel audio streams (4-10 channels)
and am having some severe artifacting on decode. What seems to be
happening is that at times when one channel is silent, one or more of
the other channels will be badly mangled. Simply reordering the
channels seems to fix the problem sometimes, but not predictably. It
also seems to be independent of quality

Sony Station Launcher - no text
When I start the Sony Station Launcher I get a blank grey window with no
text or buttons. The appdb says it requires vcrun2005sp1 and to use
winetricks to install that. Trying that for either vcrun2005sp1 or just
vcrun2005 gives an error:

Samba configuration
I'm trying to config a Linux box to integrate into a windows network using
pam_smb and samba.
Ive set it up so that using pam_smb I can get the user to log onto the
linux desktop with their NT id and password.
The only problem is once the user is logged on they need to be able to
access shared resources disk, printers etc... without the need to
reauthenticate to the domain, i.e. use a cache

Asterisk with Lucent TNT echo
I'm running SIP between my Lucent TNT acting as a gateway, and an
asterisk server. We have a PRI coming into the Lucent. Basically the
problem I'm having is mostly on inbound calls but some outbound calls as
well. I hear echo and sometimes some weird artifacting on calls coming
in from the lucent. Everything routed over IAX to VoIP Jet or Nufone
sounds fine. It seems like every 3

Does OpenSSH 3.x support KRB5 directly?
Just curious. There seems to be an awful lot in the source, but no
actual configure option.
Please advise.

[T-dose-announce] Screenshots of your fav opensource software or desktop ( high resolution - 1002-768 ) for slide show on t-dose (fwd)
Hi CentOS users,
The centos-promo team is looking for your help.
Is anyone interested in creating nice CentOS screenshots ?
We can have them on the wiki as well for future articles or presentations.
A good screenshot should:
+ Be clear on what it is showing
- applications like eg. inkscape should have a file opened
- files opened in applications should make clear what the

making automated console screenshots
Hi,
has one of you implemented something that records the current VNC
console view periodically?
I''m thinking of the following setup:
- find out how to make a vnc session from cli that just snips one
picture and logs off
- do that every minute
- set linux systems to have the panic=60 commandline option
- if a VM goes to crashed or shutdown state, stop saving new pictures,
archive the

FPS Anomaly (screenshots)
When I run naiture in WINE (it is a Windows based program that I am trying to move to Linux/OpenSource) it says the FPS is like 500+ with just a block in the center. Yet the actual visual framerate is quite choppy:

Here it is running in full, the reported FPS is more realistic:

linux distribution - kinneret. you can look at www.linux-kinneret.org if
you can read Hebrew, or wait until we have an english homepage.

Screenshots - how to?
Hi
Ok this might sound a bit dumb but I wanted to submit a screenshot for World In Conflict. This runs quite well in DX9.0c mode in WINE 1.3.5. 8)
Uhmm anyway the problem is visual artefacts in the screenshots that are not present in the game (blocky colour banding, etc.). I presume it's just the keyboard printscreen button frame capture app. is catching partly drawn OpenGL frames.
So how

Re: Screenshots - how to?
OK
More problems folks. I can't screenshot Crysis - which I am doing to test a possible shader regression - in the latest Git.
I am using:
Code:
#!/bin/bash
for (( c=1; c<=1000; c++ ))
do
scrot --delay 30 --quality 50 --thumb 58 "~/Pictures/screenshot($c).png" --exec 'rm \"$f\"'
done
I have also tried (in place of Scrot with appropriate switches
