3.11 Retrospective
We're doing something new now with releases, running a retrospective on
what things we as a community should stop, what we should start, and what
we should continue.
With last week's release, here's our quick form for 3.11
https://goo.gl/forms/OkhNZDFspYqdN00g2
We'll keep this open until June 15th to give everyone time to give us
feedback. Thanks!

Who's using OpenStack Cinder & Gluster? [ Was Re: [Gluster-devel] Fwd: Re: GlusterFS removal from Openstack Cinder]
Joe,
Agree with you on turning this around into something more positive.
One aspect that would really help us decide on our next steps here is the
actual number of deployments that will be affected by the removal of the
gluster driver in Cinder. If you are running or aware of a deployment of
OpenStack Cinder & Gluster, can you please respond on this thread or to me

IMP: Release 4.0: CentOS 6 packages will not be made available
Gluster Users,
This is to inform you that from the 4.0 release onward, packages for
CentOS 6 will not be built by the gluster community. This also means
that the CentOS SIG will not receive updates for 4.0 gluster packages.
Gluster release 3.12 and its predecessors will receive CentOS 6 updates
till Release 4.3 of gluster (which is slated around Dec, 2018).
The decision is due to the following,

Adding a slack for communication?
The archival process of the mailing list makes searching for past issues possible. Slack, and irc in general, is a more closed garden than a public archived mailing list.
That said, irc/slack is good for immediate interaction between people, say, gluster user with a nightmare and a knowledgeable developer with deep understanding and willingness to assist.
If there's a way to make a

Project Technical Leadership Council
April 25, 2018
In order to continue the momentum that Gluster has seen over the last few
years, we've formed a project technical leadership council to replace our
current single project lead. The Technical Leadership Council will provide
broad oversight and direction for the project as a whole. As Gluster has
grown, it is no longer feasible to have one person be responsible for
direction and

Updated Gluster Releases
The Gluster community has released an out-of-normal-cadence release for
Gluster 3.10, 3.12, and 4.0 that resolves a CVE[1] that has been classified
as Important. A privilege escalation flaw was found in the gluster snapshot
scheduler.
Any gluster client allowed to mount gluster volumes could also mount shared
gluster storage volumes and escalate privileges by scheduling malicious

Hey all!
In the spirit of trying something new with the Community Meeting, this next
one is changing a bit.
I'm calling it 'Gluster Global Meetup' for lack of a better name (names
welcomed) - and we're putting it on a video call.
Same time as the community meeting, but a little different on the format.
Here's a video call link for this that I'll add to the community
