Gluster Server upgrade from 3.5 to 3.8 in online upgrade mode
Thanks for your reply. So the way I understand is that it can be upgraded but with a downtime, which means that there are no clients writing to this gluster volume, as the volume is stopped. But post a upgrade we will still have the data on the gluster volume that we had before the upgrade(but with downtime). - Hemant On 9/13/17 2:33 PM, Diego Remolina wrote: > Nope, not gonna work... I

Gluster Server upgrade from 3.5 to 3.8 in online upgrade mode
Nope, not gonna work... I could never go even from 3.6. to 3.7 without downtime cause of the settings change, see: http://lists.gluster.org/pipermail/gluster-users.old/2015-September/023470.html Even when changing options in the older 3.6.x I had installed, my new 3.7.x server would not connect, so had to pretty much stop gluster in all servers, update to 3.7.x offline, then start gluster and

Change IP address of few nodes in GFS 3.8
Folks, We have a 12 node replicated gluster with 2 X 6. I need to change IP address in 6 nodes out of the 12 nodes, keeping the host name same. The 6 nodes that I plan to change IP are part of the 3 sub-volumes. Is this possible and if so is there any formal process to tell that there is a change in IP address. My requirement is to keep the volume up and not bring it down. I can change IP

We get errors/warnings, RMAN-03009: failure of backup command on C1 channel at 03/28/2018 16:55:43 ORA-19510: failed to set size of 184820 blocks for file

Change IP address of few nodes in GFS 3.8
Thanks Atin. Peer probes were done using FQDN and I was able to make these changes. The only thing I had to do on rest of the nodes was to flush nscd; after that everything was good and I did not have to restart gluster services on these rest of the nodes. - Hemant On 10/30/17 11:46 AM, Atin Mukherjee wrote: If the gluster nodes are peer probed through FQDNs then you?re good. Change IP address of few nodes in GFS 3.8
If the gluster nodes are peer probed through FQDNs then you?re good. If they?re done through IPs then for every node you?d need to replace the old IP with new IP for all the files in /var/lib/glusterd along with renaming the filenames with have the associated old IP and restart all gluster services. I used to have a script for this which I shared earlier in users ML, need to dig through my mailbox

Rolling upgrade from 3.6.3 to 3.10.5
Yes, I did an offline upgrade. 1. Stop all clients using gluster servers. 2. Stop glusterfsd and glusterd on both servers. 3. Backed up /var/lib/gluster* in all servers just to be safe. 4. Upgraded all servers from 3.6.x to 3.10.x (I did not have quotas or anything that required special steps) 5. Started gluster daemons again and confirmed everything was fine prior to letting clients connect. 5.

Oracle DB write archive log files on glusterfs
Folks, Currently we have the archive log files from a Oracle DB been written to a nas location using NFS. We are planning to move the nas location use glusterfs file system. Has anybody been able to write archive log files of a Oracle DB onto a glusterfs file system/mount point. If not done then do you all think that this can be done? I am planning to perform some testing and wanted to have

Student Introduction
This might be a little late but I was engaged in my university examinations. Moreover, I have an exam even today so apologies for the delay. Also, I had to change my project from weighting schemes to improve to improve estimated total number of results as weighting schemes was demanding a lot of time going through it. I would really appreciate if you could review my proposal asap.

suspicious memory usages
Following is the output of top command at my server and i find the high usage very much alarming. We are basically a team of three developers working on same machine(remotely), so we run mongrel_rails servers from out ~/public/app directories. We also run a cluster of mongrel servers using apache2.2. Is this much memory use normal? PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+

Upgrading Gluster revision (3.8.12 to 3.8.13) caused underlying VM fs corruption
Well it was probably caused by running replica 2 and doing online upgrade. However I added brick, turned volume to replica 3 with arbiter and got very strange issue I will mail to this list in a moment... Thanks. -ps On Tue, Jul 11, 2017 at 1:55 PM, Pranith Kumar Karampuri <pkarampu at redhat.com> wrote: > > > On Tue, Jul 11, 2017 at 5:12 PM, Diego Remolina <dijuremo at

Dataframe Manipulation
Hi Hemant, the solution is really quite similar, and the logic is identical: library(readr) library(dplyr) library(stringr) library(tidyr) data_help <- read_csv("data_help.csv") cat_help <- read_csv("cat_help.csv") # Helper function to split the Items and create a data_frame split_items <- function(items){ x <- items$Items_purchased_on_Receipts %>%
