Very slow rsync to gluster volume UNLESS `ls` or `find` scan dir on gluster volume first
Nithya, Amar, Any movement here? There could be a significant performance gain here that may also affect other bottlenecks that I'm experiencing which make gluster close to unusable at times. new Gluster cluster: 3.10 vs 3.12
After discussing with Xavi in #gluster-dev we found out that we could eliminate the slow lstats by disabling disperse.eager-lock. There is an open issue here : https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1546732 -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... glusterfs brick server use too high memory
Hi all, I'm glad to add glusterfs community. I have a glusterfs cluster: Nodes: 4 System: Centos7.1 Glusterfs: 3.8.9 Each Node: CPU: 48 core Mem: 128GB Disk: 1*4T There is one Distributed Replicated volume. There are ~160 k8s pods as clients connecting to glusterfs. But, the memory of glusterfsd process is too high, gradually increase to 100G every node. Then, I reboot the glusterfsd

high (sys) cpu util and high load
Hi I'm seeing quite high cpu sys utilisation and an increased system load the past few days on my servers. It appears it doesn't start at exactly the same time for the different servers, but I've not (yet) been able to pin the cpu usage to a specific task or entries in the logs. The cluster is running distribute with 8nodes and 4 bricks each version 3.10 The nodes have 32 (HT) cores

glusterfs brick server use too high memory
Thank you very much for your reply. I think I found the key to the problem. But, I'd like you to confirm whether this is the issue. My gluster version is 3.8.9, And I found there is a bug in it, and fixed in 3.8.11: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1431592 A large amount of memory allocated for agf_common_mt_strdup. Everythig else seem to be all right. My cluster:

Gluster high inode usage on root EC2 volume
Hello, I have one Gluster server in a cluster of four that serves a single volume. Three out of the four servers have fine inode usages - hovering around 11-12%, but one server is using every inode available causing us to get no space left on disk. I've listed out the files, there were a ton being used in /var/lib/misc/glusterfsd/farmcommand/... related to CHANGELOGs which I assuemd was

gluster client timeouts / found conflict
Hi list Recently I've experienced more and more input/output errors from my most write heavy gluster filesystem. The logfile on the gluster servers show nothing, but the client(s) that get the input/output errors (and timeouts) will as far as I can tell get errors such as : [2013-06-14 15:55:56] W [fuse-bridge.c:493:fuse_entry_cbk] glusterfs-fuse: LOOKUP(/369/60702093) inode (ptr=0x1efd440,

Finding performance bottlenecks
Tony?s performance sounds significantly sub par from my experience. I did some testing with gluster 3.12 and Ovirt 3.9, on my running production cluster when I enabled the glfsapi, even my pre numbers are significantly better than what Tony is reporting: ??????????????????? Before using gfapi: ]# dd if=/dev/urandom of=test.file bs=1M count=1024 1024+0 records in 1024+0 records out 1073741824

glusterfs 3.2.1 processes in an endless loop?
Hello, I found a new issue with glusterfs 3.2.1 - im getting a glusterfs process for each mountpoint and they are consuming all of the CPU time. strace won't show a thing - so no system calls are made Mounting the same volumes on another server works fine. Has anyone seen such a thing? Oder any idea, what causes this and how to fix it? The logfiles don't show any information about

High CPU Usage After Glusterfs install
Hi Guys, I have 2 servers with a fresh install of glusterfs and I am seeing a very high CPU load.? I am trying to just do a very basic config to get this started and for the life of me, I don't know what could be causing it.? The CPU goes up to 100% across all 4 CPU's on each gluster node and I am seeing timeouts coming from the vms that I am testing with.? I simply copied the

ERROR during high volume MoH dialplan
Thanks for the feedback. I do agree with having multiple smaller servers. When I was first approached with this task I mentioned as much. However, the current desire is to work with already existing hardware. That is out of my hands at the moment unless it just can't be done. I will explore Freeswitch a bit soon to compare it as well. I am struggling to find what the bottle neck is in

GlusterFS healing questions
Someone on the #gluster-users irc channel said the following : "Decreasing features.locks-revocation-max-blocked to an absurdly low number is letting our distributed-disperse set heal again." Is this something to concider? Does anyone else have experience with tweaking this to speed up healing? Sent from my iPhone > On 9 Nov 2017, at 18:00, Serkan ?oban <cobanserkan at

TCP connection incresement when reconfigure and question about multi-graph
Hi, all. I set up a dht system, and sent a HUP signal to client to trigger the reconfiguration. But i found that the TCP connection established increased by the number of bricks(the number of glusterfsd progress). $ ps -ef | grep glusterfs root 8579 1 0 11:28 ? 00:00:00 glusterfsd -f /home/huz/dht/server.vol -l /home/huz/dht/server.log -L TRACE root 8583 1 0 11:28 ?

GlusterFS healing questions
Hi, You can set disperse.shd-max-threads to 2 or 4 in order to make heal faster. This makes my heal times 2-3x faster. Also you can play with disperse.self-heal-window-size to read more bytes at one time, but i did not test it. Problem After adding Bricks
Hello, I have run into some performance issues after adding bricks to a 3.3.1 volume. Basically I am seeing very high CPU usage and extremely degraded performance. I started a re-balance but stopped it after a couple days. The logs have a lot of entries for split-brain as well as "Non Blocking entrylks failed for". For some of the directories on the client doing an ls will show multiple
