URGENT: Update issues from 3.6.6 to 3.10.2 Accessing files via samba come up with permission denied
Hi everyone,
Is there anything else we could do to check on this problem and try to
fix it? The issue is definitively related to either the samba vfs
gluster plugin or gluster itself. I am not sure how to pin it down
futher.
I went ahead and created a new share in the samba server which is on a
local filesystem where the OS is installed, not part of gluster:
# mount | grep home
]# ls -ld /home

Thanks for taking the time to look into this. Since we needed downtime
due to the gluster update, we also updated the OS, including samba. We
went from 4.2.x to 4.4.4 and many other packages for CentOS were
updated as well. OS and samba updates were installed, then server
rebooted, then gluster was updated.
Created a new test samba share to minimize logs, etc:

I don't think it is vfs plugin because you haven't updated samba packages

Did the logs provide any hints as to what the issue may be?

File locking issue
I have a client with an older server that is running into a weird file
locking problem.
The server is running FC2, samba 3.0.7 and kernel 2.6.10.
They have recently installed AutoDesk Revit, which is apparently some
sort of collaborative design software. Revit keeps a central repository
and then allows different clients to access it.
What is happening is that only the person who created the

Rsync over windows remote desktop
Hello,
Not sure if any of you can help me with a rsync challenge I am having, but
here goes. I am trying to get two Windows XP professional computers to
synchronize using a windows remote desktop connection. When remotely
connected to one of the computers from the other in Windows explorer the
folders and drives of both computers are visible. However when I try to run

libGLU.so.1
I have a C++ program that I have been running on RedHat 6 and I want
to move to CentOS 7. When I run it on the CentOS 7 system it fails
with:
error while loading shared libraries: libGLU.so.1: cannot open shared
object file: No such file or directory
I did this, but still have no libGLU. I did a find of the entire
system for '*libGLU*' and nothing.

File sync/delete question
Hi,
I need to solve a specific problem and I think that I need an extension to
rsync for this to work :)
I have an FTP server in the DMZ and a samba server in my intranet. The ftp
server has an "incoming" directory, where people can put uploads and it is
also running rsync in daemon mode.
The samba server syncs the incoming directory of the ftp server every
minute to make access to

Seattle Meetup?
Hi all,
It looks like I''ll be in Seattle on Sunday, September 16th through
Tuesday the 18th, and I''d like to have Puppet Meetup either Sunday or
Monday night.
On Adam''s recommendation, I''ll be staying at the Queen Anne Inn, so
something near there would be best. Hopefully Adam or Blake can do
the actual organization. :)
Any takers?

Migrate from sernet-samba to samba4
Hello All,
Is it possible to migrate from 4.2.14-SerNet-RedHat-23.el7 to samba-4.4.4-13.el7_3.x86_64 on centOS7?
I've got two centos7 servers running sernet versions of samba. Both are AD DC's, with 600 users.
If I run yum install samba4, I get a promising error back:
Package samba-4.4.4-13.el7_3.x86_64 is obsoleted by 99:sernet-samba-4.2.14-23.el7.x86_64 which is already installed

Ajax.Updater not populating element - please help
Hello everyone,
This is related to my post a few days ago regarding multi select
lists. I''ve rewritten the code and now can''t seem to get the
Ajax.Updater in getModels() to "execute", and the element never gets
populated.
I know it''s something obvious and hope someone could point it out to me.
Thanks for any help.

yum adding 7.3 packages to 7.2 system
My system is 7.2.1511.
When I run "yum update", it wants to install about
900 packages total. Most are labeled just "el7".
A few "el7_1" and a lot are "el7_3" or 7.3.
None are 7.2.
I'm not surprised when I see 50-100 packages needing
an update. But 900? And none specific to the
installed system?
My last update, of 4 packages, was Dec 31, 2016.

Memory Leakage in Gluster 3.10.2-1
Hi All,
We are using GlusterFS 3.10.2 (upgraded from 3.7.0 last week) on CentOS 7.x .
We continue to see memory utilization going up once every 3 days. The memory utilization of the server demon(glusterd) in ?server is keep on increasing. In about 30+ hours the Memory utilization of glusterd service alone will reach 70% of memory available. Since we have alarms for this threshold, we get notified

Samba file sharing with AD authentication doesn't work on some boxes
I have a few RHEL7 boxes, all of them are members in MS Win domain using
SSSD. All of these linuxes run Samba for file sharing with the same config.
Usually it works nice, but from time to time users cannot map Samba
folders, with the following message in the log:
