trashcan on dist. repl. volume with geo-replication
Hi Dietmar, I am trying to understand the problem and have few questions. 1. Is trashcan enabled only on master volume? 2. Does the 'rm -rf' done on master volume synced to slave ? 3. If trashcan is disabled, the issue goes away? The geo-rep error just says the it failed to create the directory "Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension" on slave. Usually this would be because of gfid

geo-replication command rsync returned with 3
Dear All, we are running a dist. repl. volume on 4 nodes including geo-replication to another location. the geo-replication was running fine for months. since 18th jan. the geo-replication is faulty. the geo-rep log on the master shows following error in a loop while the logs on the slave just show 'I'nformations... somehow suspicious are the frequent 'shutting down connection'

High load on CPU due to glusterfsd process
Hi Team, Whenever I am performing the IO operation on gluster volume, the loads is getting increase on CPU which reaches upto 70-80 sometimes. when we started debugging, found that the io_worker thread is created to server the IO request and consume high CPU till that request gets completed. Could you please let me know why io_worker thread takes this much of CPU. Is there any way to resole

lstat & readlink calls during glusterfsd process startup
Hi all, I am on gluster 3.10.5 with one EC volume 16+4. One of the machines go down previous night and I just fixed it and powered on. When glusterfsd processes started they consume all CPU on the server. strace shows every process goes over in bricks directory and do a lstat & readlink calls. Each brick directory is 8TB, %60 full. I waited for 24 hours for it to finish but it did not. I

glusterd vs. glusterfsd
I'm running version 3.3.0 on Fedora16-x86_64. The official(?) RPMs ship two init scripts, glusterd and glusterfsd. I've googled a bit, and I can't figure out what the purpose is for each of them. I know that I need one of them, but I can't tell which for sure. There's no man page for either, and running them with --help returns the same exact output. Do they have separate

gencache.tdb growing and growing and...
Is it normal that the gencache.tdb should grow and grow “forever” and fill up with “RA/<hex>” posts? I’ve been investigating why our Samba 4.7.3 servers (happened with older version 4 servers too) would use such insane amounts of memory on our FreeBSD 11.1 servers (we see smbd processes using hundreds of megabytes of RAM and up to 5GB virtual memory). Anyway, one part that seems to use

ruby.exe growing large, possible memory leak in sql server
Hey all, I believe there is a memory leak when using Win2000 + SQL Server + Apache2 + scgi + rails 1.1. My apps so far have been pretty ''low impact'' and i did not notice it before, but the memory footprint of ruby.exe is growing larger. After 6 queries that fetch ~2,000 rows each, ruby.exe has grown to 41 megs (originally around 20). The memory leak is also present in webrick,

messages.tdb growing large
Running Samba 3.5.8 on Ubuntu server 11.04 32 bit. Server is HP DL-385 8 core - 16GB 1TB raid 1. My messages.tdb file is 664223744 bytes and we are having strange problems with printers. My print queues will die and nothing prints. One way to fix it is to comment out the printer from printcap, save it printcap, then reverse the process. This fixes the printer but the same problem occurs several

how to evaluate the significance of attributes in tree growing
Hi, there: I am wondering if there is a package in R (doing decison trees) which can provide some methods to evaluate the significance of attributes. I remembered randomForest gives some output like that. Unfortunately my current computing env. cannot handle my datasets if I use randomForest. So, I am thinking if other packages can do this job or not. Thanks, Ed

connections.tdb file keeps growing.
Hi, I think I've found the cause of the large smbd processes. Does each smbd process keep a pointer to the connections.tdb file? This keeps growing and is currently over 20MB in size despite there being only 40 current users and 80 smbd processes? smbstatus reports services being accessed and files locked by non existent pids which are over a month old. Samba 3.0.21c on Solaris 10
