GlusterFS Fuse client hangs when coping large files
Hello, I?m having some weird problems while coping large files (> 1GB) to a GlusterFS through a Fuse client. When the copy is done using the cp command everything is fine, but if I use a Java program, the GlusterFS Fuse hangs. The kern.log shows timeout for the Java program and the Fuse client. Anyone have experienced this behavior? Test environment: Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS (GNU/Linux

glusterfs brick server use too high memory
Thank you very much for your reply. I think I found the key to the problem. But, I'd like you to confirm whether this is the issue. My gluster version is 3.8.9, And I found there is a bug in it, and fixed in 3.8.11: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1431592 A large amount of memory allocated for agf_common_mt_strdup. Everythig else seem to be all right. My cluster:

GlusterFS server/client within LXC
Hello, currently we're doing a redesign of one of our web platforms. At the moment the webcontent is stored on a NFS share and rsync is used to sync data to a manual failover server (sucks). The new platform will be LXC based. I tested GlusterFS server and client (3.4.1) within a LXC container on ext4 without any problem. Do you think it is a bad idea to do so? Will there be any major

glusterfs for Xen Server VM Images
Hi We have successfully deployed glusterfs. We have deployed two servers with one volume as a replica. We use Citrix XenServer for our virtual environment. In XenServer we have created a storage repository via NFS using the glusterfs volume. This has been successful and XenServer can now use that storage repository for storing virtual machine images. We are finding that the storage

Hi Sir/Madam, I have a question about glusterfs build. In our environment, we need to build the glusterfs on one server and run it on another one. These two directories are different and the built image includes lots of symbol about the build server, as a result, I cannot run it in the production environment, any your comments will be highly appreciated! I checked, and I have it like this: # Name of the HA cluster created. # must be unique within the subnet HA_NAME="ganesha-nfs" # # The gluster server from which to mount the shared data volume. HA_VOL_SERVER="tlxdmz-nfs1" # # N.B. you may use short names or long names; you may not use IP addrs. # Once you select one, stay with it as it will be mildly unpleasant to # clean up

Why does glusterfs has nfs stuff on the server
When I installed gluster and do a "ps" on the process I see: /usr/sbin/glusterfs -f /etc/glusterd/nfs/nfs-server.vol -p /etc/glusterd/nfs/run/nfs.pid -l /var/log/glusterfs/nfs.log" My question is why did glusterfs use nfs-server.vol, nfs.pid and nfs.log instead of using some generic name. This is confusing and makes me think it's using nfs somehow on the server even though
