File locking issue
I have a client with an older server that is running into a weird file
locking problem.
The server is running FC2, samba 3.0.7 and kernel 2.6.10.
They have recently installed AutoDesk Revit, which is apparently some
sort of collaborative design software. Revit keeps a central repository
and then allows different clients to access it.
What is happening is that only the person who created the

Asterisk not working with session border controller
Hi All
My company has bought a license for a session border controller called
"Middle". It look like this software acts like a proxy and registers
devices to the asterisk.
the problem (As per Middle guys) is that "Middle" sends a registration
request to the Asterisk asking it to reply to the port 7062, but the
Asterisk sends back the packet to the originating port 7060.

[LLVMdev] nightly tester setup
I've noticed that my nightly tester doesn't seem to be reporting the
results of running llvm-test, only build warnings and make check.
Checking with -verbose shows that it's running the test suite, so I
don't quite understand what's going on. Looking at
http://llvm.org/nightlytest/ shows that none of the other Linux testers
are reporting test suite results either.

[LLVMdev] nightly tester setup
Hard to tell what's wrong. Perhaps /usr/local/bin is not part of path
for a cron job?
You should add NewNightlyTest.pl -noremove -release options. That
leaves the build directory around for you examine it afterwards. Just
manually delete the build directory before running NewNightlyTest.pl.

OT: For sale (4) Digium TE210P Dual line cards
We performed a server hardware refresh recently here -- went PCI-x, and
now I have 4 extra PCI interface cards that I'd like to find a good home
for.
These have been extremely solid cards, all of them also have the
hardware echo cancellation modules.

The look of wine
Three simple questions:
What does wine use to translate .ico s into .xpm s?
Are the icons wine uses in it's dialogs really that badly colored or are
they just badly tuned for the depth I'm using (16)?
Why is the wine icon in all it's dialogs a badly colored martini, I
though it was wine I was drink'n here!

Setup exits with empty dialog box!
Hi all,
I'm just getting started using WINE. I set it up, and it runs the
canonical Solitaire game just fine. My WINE config file is attached.
I popped in a Sierra Generations Family Tree Deluxe CD and ran its setup
program. A small window titled "Setup" appears with a gas gauge and the
text "Generations(R) 4.2 Setup is preparing the InstallShield(R) Wizard

MSDFS redirection WinXP SP2
I am currently having problems accesing our samba msdfs shares from
Windows XP SP2, Windows 2000 and WinXP SP1 seem unaffected. I have
attached the smb.conf and the exports files that define the shares.
Running ethereal on the different clients seems to point to the fact
that XP SP2 no longer seems to be using the netbios-ssn (139) port. for

AKIMA color contouring
R Users,
I am using the AKIMA contrib package to generate a 2D colored
contour plot.
The code generates a contour value color legend adjacent the plot
based on the range of
Z values in the plot.
Is there some way to make the association between Z values and
color scale absolute
rather than relative i.e., I want dark green to always mean Z = 4.00 even
if I don't

R and QSAR equations
Hello R Users,
I am interested in using R to generate quantitative structure-activity
relationships (QSARs) for small molecules given
a set of molecular descriptors (the X's) and biological data (Y's) (usually
tab-delimited data files).
Has anyone done this using R ? Would you be willing to share your R
scripts (or ideas) for doing this with me ?
I am particularly interested in

Samba4 and file permissions
Hello
I configured a samba 4.3.1 service on a Centos 6.5 32 bit system and installed it in the /home/samba/samba-4.3.1 directory (I know this is not a good place but it was the only partition with enough free space).
The samba is running as an Active Directory Domain Controller with rfc2307 enabled and embedded DNS server.
This is my smb.conf

brick out of space, unmounted brick
Hello Gluster users,
Before I put Gluster into production, I am wondering how it determines whether a byte can be written, and where I should look in the source code to change these behaviors. My experiences are with glusterfs 3.2.4 on CentOS 6 64-bit.
Suppose I have a Gluster volume made up of four 1 MB bricks, like this
Volume Name: test
Type: Distributed-Replicate
Status: Started

[3.0.23d] winbind: ads_connect for domain X failed: Operations error

Windows 2000 server SP4 in mixed mode (netbios name is MAFIA-L6FFST3UP,
domain is ADTEST / adtest.linbox.com)
Hello,
So I've successfully established a two ways interdomain trust
relationship between a SAMBA PDC and a Windows domain. It was working
fine: for example a windows user was able to connect on a share on the
SAMBA server.

Hello,
I've established an interdomain trust relationship between SAMBA and
Windows.
Samba domain users can log into the Windows domain, but Windows domain
users can't log to the SAMBA server.
For example, if I try to log as "ADTEST/dupond" from Windows to SAMBA,
SAMBA log says:
