Extending RAIDZ.
Yeah:)
I''d like to work on this. Here are my first observations:
- We need to call vdev_op_asize method with additonal ''offset'' argument,
- We need to move data to new disk starting from the very begining, so
we can''t reuse scrub/resilver code which does tree-walk through the
data.
Below you can see how I imagine to extend RAIDZ. Here is the legend:

could we use ":" to represent multiple matrice in a list or sequential chracter names
Hi,
I know we can use 1:10 to represent the 1,2,3,...,10 numbers, but the
following conditions are except.
Anybody knows how to represent the following two cases with similar usage
of ":" or others? Usually, i will get several hundred names for them, such
as a1,a2,... or f[[1]],f[[2]],...
#Example data
a1<-array(1:12,c(2,3,2)); a2<-array(2,c(2,3,2)); a3<-array(0,c(2,3,2))

Samba 3 with LDAP vs. Windows 10 - I KNOW SAMBA3 IS DEPRECATED, BUT COULD BE INTERESTING :)
Hi Folks,
after some days of intensive google-work I didn't find a solution for
joining Windows 10 Clients (release version) to Samba 3.6.6 LDAP based
NT Domain.
I know, that I should switch to Samba4 but we got hundreds of scripts,
services, devices and other stuff (our coffeemachine estimates the
preferred strength for each user ... mission critical ;) ) that use the
ldap service for

Windows 10 in Samba 3 domain: netlogon share access denied
Hi,
I got the same problem with Build 10162. I dont think it's an Samba
issue. It seems that Windows 10 dont like "\\....\netlogon". Our Samba
3.5.6 PDC works like a charm for win 7. From my Win10 PC i can access
everything except \\dc1\netlogon
Symptoms:
Accessing \\dc1\netlogon -> Auth fail
Accessing \\dc1\netlogon2 -> Works (same config!!!)
Accessing \\dc1\s1\netlogon

Samba Hylafax PAM
O, try the following.
Test this first.
ldd /usr/sbin/hfaxd
if you getting libpam.so.. something, then hylafax is compiled with pam support.
Next,
apt-get install libpam-ldap ( just to be sure, i do believe you have installed it already )
create the file :
/etc/pam.d/hylafax
Add :
auth required pam_ldap.so
account required pam_ldap.so

package lmodel2: p-value RMA fitting?
Hi *,
is there a way to obtain some kind of p-value for a model fitted with RMA
using the lmodel2 package?
I know that p-values are discussed and criticized a lot and as you can image
from my question I'm not
very much of a statistican (only writing my bachelor thesis).
As fare as I understood the confidence interval statistic correctly, a
coefficient is regarded as statistically
significant

Newbie -- Program ereg32.exe has encountered a problem
My first attempt using Wine. I have "successfully" installed Broderbund Calendar Creator 9 on Ubuntu 10.4 AMD64.
Trying to execute the Broderbund 'register' program results in a message that the program ereg32.exe has encountered a severe error.. and closes.
Trying to execute 'calendar.exe' results in about 20 seconds of attempting to execute and then nothing.

memoryStats question
Hello,
I'm trying to get memory usage statistic inside a guest machine using
virDomainMemoryStats function at libvirt.
According to
http://libvirt.org/html/libvirt-libvirt.html#virDomainMemoryStatTags the
structure could have a lot of useful memory statistic but the amount of
parameters depends on the hypervisor and the driver.
However using KVM I'm able to get

[LLVMdev] Performance problems with FORTRAN allocatable arrays
I've noticed that LLVM does a bad job of optimizing array indexing
code for FORTRAN arrays declared using the ALLOCATABLE keyword.
For example if you have something like the following:
DOUBLE PRECISION,ALLOCATABLE,DIMENSION(:,:,:,:) :: QAV
...
ALLOCATE( QAV( -2:IMAX+2,-2:JMAX+2,-2:KMAX+2,ND) )
...
DO L = 1, 5
DO K = K1, K2
DO J = J1, J2
DO I = I1, I2
II = I +

How to get guest's cpu and mem usage with Java APIs
Hi everybody,
I'm using libvirt java api bindings for my thesis. I would like to know if
there is a way to obtain live information about cpu and mem usage of a

Yes, that's what I finally remembered. I think I've fixed all
occurrences (by adding EXTEND32)
