[FORGED] Error occurring in "emmeans" package for the two data sets I used. Please help.
Thanks for your kind reply. Problem is solved. However, it's "confidence interval / treatment comparison plot" is not taking main title. And the fonts of axes labels can not be changed using 'cex' parameter. I will appreciate if you could help in this matter too. Dr. A. K. R helps win competitions
DeaR ComRades, This is a quote from a News article in Science's 11-February issue, about competitions to model data: "For Chris Raimondi, a search-engine expert based in Baltimore, Maryland, and winner of the HIV-treatment competition, the Kaggle contest motivated him to hone his skills in a newly learned computer language called R, which he used to encode the winning data model.

use of the 'by' command & converting SPSS ANOVA/GLM syntax into R syntax
I have two questions I would appreciate assistance with: (1) I believe "by" is the command used to split a file. In the following example, "mydat" is the dataframe , "group" the variable I want to split the analysis by & "WK1FREQ,WK2FREQ" the variables attach(mydat) by (GROUP) cor.test (WK1FREQ,WK2FREQ) I have also tried: (by (GROUP) cor.test

mixed model nested ANOVA (part two)
First of all thank you for the responses. I appreciate the suggestions i have received thus far. Just to reiterate I am trying to analyze a data set that has been collected from a hierarchical sampling design. The model should be a mixed model nested ANOVA. The purpose of my study is to analyze the variability at each spatial scale in my design (random factors, variance components), and say

interpreting significance of path coefficients from sem() output
Hi there, Quick question about the output from the sem() function in the library of the same name. If I am getting probabilities >0.05 for some of my estimates of path coefficients, I'm assuming the interpretation here is that the coefficient is not significantly different from zero, correct? In that case, might it make sense that I should disregard path coefficients between

reading tables from url
I'm trying to read some web tables directly into R. These are both genome sequencing projects (eukaryotes and metagenomes) from NCBI and look very similar; however, only the first one works. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/genomes/leuks.cgi http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/genomes/lenvs.cgi I added ?dump=selected to the end of the url string to get a tab- delimited file (which is what happens

before-after control-impact analysis with R
Hello everybody, In am trying to analyse a BACI experiment and I really want to do it with R (which I find really exciting). So, before moving on I though it would be a good idea to repeat some known experiments which are quite similar to my own. I tried to reproduce 2 published examples but without much success. The first one in particular is a published dataset analysed with SAS by

Model formulas with explicit references
Dear R-Devel, I seem to no longer be able to access the bug-reporting system, so am doing this by e-mail. My report concerns models where variables are explicitly referenced (or is it "dereferenced"?), such as: cars.lm <- lm(mtcars[[1]] ~ factor(mtcars$cyl) + mtcars[["disp"]]) I have found that it is not possible to predict such models with new data. For example:

Dear all, I am a new member to the list - and to the analysis that I am attempting. I have the following case A group of us have been monitoring (over a period of a few years) a number of paired plots that were flooded and / or burnt. The plots are located in two topographical settings, some were burnt, some were flooded, some were burnt & flooded and some were not affected at all. At

I read through the editorial. This is the one of the most mega-ultra-super-biased articles I've ever read. e.g. The authors encourage Baysian methods, and literally encourage subjective approaches. However, there's only one reference to robust methods and one reference to nonparametric methods, both of which are labelled as purely exploratory methods, which I regard as extremely

Nested ANOVA with covariate using Type III sums of squares
Hello, I have been trying to get an ANOVA table for a linear model containing a single nested factor, two fixed factors and a covariate: carbonmean<-lm(C.Mean~ Mean.richness + Diversity + Zoop + Diversity/Phyto + Zoop*Diversity/Phyto) where, *Mean.richness* is a covariate*, Zoop* is a categorical variable (the species), *Diversity* is a categorical variable (Low or High), and

winbind auth using ADS with domain trusts
In reading the documentation I havn't found anything that covers the use of winbindd when authenticating against one domain (lets call it 'A') while also allowing users from a domain trusted by A (lets call it 'B'). My linux box is a member server in domain A which is a new domain we are working on transitioning to. We are not renaming because 2k server doesn't have that
