How to get prediction for a variable in WinBUGS?
Dear all,I am a new user of WinBUGS and need your help. After running the following code, I got parameters of beta0 through beta4 (stats, density), but I don't know how to get the prediction of the last value of h, the variable I set to NA and want to model it using the following code.Does anyone can given me a hint? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Best

[LLVMdev] Strange code generation issue
Hi,
I am using the LLVM release_37 branch and have a strange issue.
Please see the two IR outputs I have saved below:
https://github.com/dibyendumajumdar/ravi/tree/master/ravi-tests/comp_issue
The original.ll is the code I am generating.
The aftercompiling.ll is the output from LLVM with opt level 0.
The issue is that LLVM is deciding to remove the blocks with labels

Hi Kamal,
Sure. I guess I ought to create a test that one can look in isolation.

OpenSolaris Sparc Xen boot problem
I am running OpenSolaris build 134 on a T1000 (Sparc).
It has been an uphill battle getting this far. Many of the commands I
find in the various documentation won''t work for me.

[LLVMdev] Eliminating redundant loads
Hi,
I am generating following code:
%base = getelementptr inbounds %ravi.CallInfo* %6, i32 0, i32 4, i32 0
%7 = load %ravi.TValue** %base
%8 = bitcast %ravi.TValue* %7 to i8*

call void @llvm.memcpy.p0i8.p0i8.i32(i8* %8, i8* %9, i32 16, i32 8, i1 false)
%10 = load %ravi.CallInfo** %L_ci

Ignoring initial rows in a text file import
I am trying to import a series of text files generated by stimulus
presentation software. The problem that I am having is that the number of
rows I need to skip is not fixed (depending on subject's pretest behavior)
nor is the first row of the data I want always the same (the stimuli were
presented in random order). So I need to bring in the .txt file (using
readLines?), look for the row

I got HP T1000 INTL UPS to work with NUT. Looks like it is more or

Extracting t-tests on coefficients in lm
I am writing a resampling program for multiple regression using lm(). I
resample the data 10,000 times, each time extracting the regression
coefficients. At present I extract the individual regression
coefficients using
brg = lm(Newdv~Teach + Exam + Knowledge + Grade + Enroll)
bcoef[i,] = brg$coef
This works fine.
But now I want to extract the t tests on these coefficients. I cannot

CentOS on new Thinkpads
Ok, I see a lot of nice answers here so I would like to try to refine
this a little.
After some research I was going to skip Lenovo. People are clearly
having problems running Linux on Lenovos. I spoke with one person that
had a really hard time with their X250. However, I think a lot of
problems are caused by bleeding edge hardware. My feeling is it takes
at least 1 year before the kernels have

CentOS on new Thinkpads
Is anyone running CentOS on a newish Thinkpad?
I have been using Linux as my primary workstation since about 97 and
it seems like using Linux as a desktop has slipped over the years.
After the Gnome desktop dumb-down, I have been nursing CentOS 6.8 on a
5 yo Toshiba. So I was hoping that someone has some recent real-world
experience with new Thinkpads.
So is anyone running a new Thinkpad? What

How accurate is "ustack"?
I have been doing some profiling using the profile provider. I have a
command that runs more slowly on the T1000 than it does on prior
systems and I am trying to find out why. Using the profile provider at
1000 hz, and aggregating on the ustack output, I find that the same
function appears at the top of the stack on both platforms, but on
each there are specific instruction locations within

multiple paired t-tests
Hi R users,
I have a very large data set that has two conditioning variables for the
test I want to perform.
A toy set can be simulated:
type<-sample(1:3,100,replace=TRUE)
class<-sample(1:20,100,replace=TRUE)
value<-rnorm(100)
data<-cbind(type,class,value)
(though type and class are alphanum)
I want to perform the three pair-wise t-tests between types for each
class in data.

A simple question
Hi all,
I am a newbie of R, and have a very simple question. When I run the
following t test
result = t.test(weight ~ group)
If I want to get the t value, I can do
tvalue = result$statistic
with tvalue being the following:
t
1.191260
However, if I just want the number 1.191260, not the character "t",
how can I achieve that?
Thank you very much,
Gang

Error t value matrix
Hi all,
I want to make the following:
I want to run a linear regression on each column of a matrix "estima" on
the correspondent column on the matrix "estima2".
You see I want to regress estima[,1] on estima2[,1] this way to all
columns....
At the same time I want to make a regression adding each time a new
observation.
You see, the first regression will regress only one
