Installing required packages with an R package
Dear All, I am preparing an R-package and I would like to ask how do I make it check whether dependencies (i.e. other packages) are already installed in a machine and if they are not installed to automatically install them during its installation. Thanks, Polychronis Polychronis Kostoulas [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Installing required packages with an R package
R-package-devel is the better venue, as r-packages is only for announcements. meaning of tests presented in anova(ols(...)) {Design package}
Hi, I am curious about how to interpret the table produced by anova(ols(...)), from the Design package. I have a multiple linear regression model, with some interaction, defined by: ols(formula = log(ksat * 60 * 60) ~ log(sar) * pol(activity, 3) + log(conc) * pol(sand, 3), data = sm.clean, x = TRUE, y = TRUE) n Model L.R. d.f. Playonlinux and Office 2007
I'm trying to install MS office 2007 standard trial using Playonlinux on Wine 1.3.8. I need to install stuff like MSXML, .net 2 etc... but when I start installing them, a dialog pops up saying 'choose a prefix to patch'... and the list below is empty. If I forward the dialog just closes.

NTconfig.pol not used
I am running Samba 2.2.7a on SuSE 8.0 and all Windows/XP clients in a PDC configuration. All runs great except for one problem. I cannot get NTconfig.pol to be used. I have placed it in the netlogon share and read/execute permissions are wide open. I turn on samba loglevel=3 and I never see samba even try to look for NTconfig.pol, or any *.pol file. This occurs for all of my clients. Any

point.in.polygon() in sp package: accuracy problems?
Dear list: I encountered some problems using the function point.in.polygon() of the sp package, when trying to determine whether some points lye inside, outside, on the border or on a vertice of a polygon. I have a list of point I know should lye right on the border of a polygon, but some of them are not classified as such by point.in.polygon() (see the example code below). To make a long story

[OT] correspondence analysis w/ non-mutually-exclusive categories
Greetings, again. This is not strictly an R question, so please feel free to ignore it if you like. My question is about the substance of correspondence analysis. Specifically, is it appropriate to use ca on a matrix of values such that the columns and/or rows are not mutually exclusive? To be more detailed: - The standard use of ca is illustrated in the example of corresp() (from MASS):

Question about silos and Authentication policies
Thanks Rob for chiming in. Stefan, I do want to be very clear, one of the big challanges that we as developers face building these kind of tools is that we don't run AD domains day-to-day. So we really value good feedback on the ergonomics. If you can test with our work in progress, we are keen to adapt the tooling where possible to be more in line with what is 'naturally expected, so
