Extrapolating values from a glm fit
Dear R-help,
I have fitted a glm logistic function to dichotomous forced choices
responses varying according to time interval between two stimulus. x values
are time separation in miliseconds, and the y values are proportion
responses for one of the stimulus. Now I am trying to extrapolate x values
for the y value (proportion) at .25, .5, and .75. I have tried several
predict parameters, and they

Possible Bug in Effects Package
Dear List,
I find Effects package very useful, but I believe I have found a bug in
allEffects function. Please consider the following code:
test <- data.frame(tries= round(runif(40, 5, 300)),
tra = gl(4, 10, labels = c("V", "D", "C", "L")),
prop= runif(40, 0, 1))
test$success <- round(with(test, tries*prop))
test$prop <- with(test,

Putting values and axis X labels on the charts based on allEffects
Dear everybody!
Need help with graphics. I am runnig a simple lm and then using
allEffects from 'effects' package:
require(effects)
model<-lm(Y~A+B, data=mydataframe)
I am trying to build (for each predictor - A and then B) a plot of means on Y.
I was successful doing it like this - in one swoop:
ml.eff<-allEffects(ml1, se=F)
plot(ml.eff,ylab="Title of Y")
Is it

GLM con clusters
Gracias a todos por sus respuestas, perdón si no fui muy claro.
Lo que intento replicar es un análisis realizado en Stata, tengo que hacer
los mismos cálculos pero en el r.
En Stata lo que se hizo fue:
xi: logistic i.coord i.v11_sexo, vce (cluster red)
*Vce (cluster clustvar) especifica que los errores estándar permiten la

How to use a function inside a regression formula
Hi,
How do I use a function inside a regression formula? When I tried to use
min() function inside a regression formula, I ran into errors. Here are
the commands to reproduce the error:

attach(mydata)
names(mydata)
mylm2 = lm(admit~gre+I(max(gpa,rank)))

Problems using allEffects() (package effect)
Dear R users,
I have some trouble using the allEffects() function to compute and
display effect plots for a linear model.
My data is quite simple, it concerns effects of 3 treatments on the
tumoral volume of mice. vTum codes for the qualitative initial volume,
from small to big, temps is the time in month since beginning of
treatment, and S?rie codes for the batch. Data is unbalanced.

Help with adding points to allEffects plot
Thanks in advance for any help.
I am attempting to add points to a plot using the allEffects command in the
effects package. When I try to add the points I get the following error
message:
Error in plot.xy(xy.coords(x, y), type = type, ...) :
plot.new has not been called yet
Strangely, using the code I've pasted below this has worked for me in the
past however figuring out what has

effects package --- add abline to plot
Hello, I am not having success in a simple task. Using the effects package, I would like to add reference lines at probability values of 0.1 – 0.6 on a plot of the effects. The plot command works, but following up with an abline command produces the message “plot .new has not been called yet”, and of course the reference lines were not added.
Looking through past R help lists, there was a

help overlay scatterplot to effects plot
I have a process where I am creating a effects plot similar to the cowles effect example. I would like to add the point estimates to the effects plot, can someone show me the correct syntax. I have included the "R" effects example, so you can show me the correct syntax. Thanks

Error Message - "effects" package
Hi,
I'm running R 2.11.1 on Windows 32-bit. I fitted a glm to a "large" data set
with no problems (i.e., nothing is wrong with the created glm object).
However, when I try to use the "effects" package to plot the effects I get
the error message shown below. I get the same message if I try to plot a
single effect. Any idea what could be wrong here?

How can I change the strip text, for example (16,23] in the following

Error in contrasts message when using logistic regression code.
I have a rather large data set (about 30 predictor variables)
I need to preform a logistic regression on this data. My response variable
is binary.
My code looks like this:
mylogit <- glm(Enrolled ~ A + B + C + ... + EE, data = data, family =
binomial(link="logit"))
with A,B,C, ... as my predictor variables. Some categorical, some
continuous, some binary.
I run the code and get

GLM con clusters
Buenas tardes,
desde Uruguay, quiero realizar una regresión logística,con la función GLM,
pero ademas quiero designarle a las observaciones clusters.
La idea es decirle al programa que las observaciones corresponden a
diferentes clusters.
Saludos!
Sebastián.

RFC: Declaring "foo.bar" as nonS3method() ?!
This is a topic ' "apparent S3 methods" note in R CMD check '
from R-package-devel

which is relevant to here because some of us have been thinking
about extending R because of the issue.

how do i retrieve a newly created id
in my code i''m calling save on an object. The id gets created as the object
is persisted. How can i retrieve that newly created id? I guess I could
query the table again using the other attributes of the object but is there
another way?
thanks in advance.

Previously extended schema not working in 4.4.0
Thank you, Andrew - I hadn't done so. (In a good way, I haven't yet had
problems with samba that have caused me to delve quite so deeply into the
DB :) so I'm not as familiar with the range of tools as I could be, sorry!)
This has flagged up quite a few errors, all along the lines of:
# samba-tool dbcheck --cross-ncs

create all possible gene ratios.Is there an elegant and fast way to do it in
R and write it to a dataframe?
Thanks for any help.

diff of two timestamps
Hi all,
I have the following problem: I have a csv-file consisting of timestamp
values (no dates), e.g.:
Timestamp1;Timestamp2;
05:24:43;05:25:05;
15:47:02;15:47:22;
18:36:05;18:36:24;
15:21:24;15:22:04;
I need a vector with the difference of the two timestamps, so I read the
data with the read.csv-function:
myObj <- read.csv("file.csv",header=TRUE,sep=";").
I have then
