3D plot with coordinates
Thanks Duncan for the replyI can not suppress anything these are radiation pattern measurements that are typically are taken at X,Y and Z planes. See an example here, where I want to plot the measurements for the red, green and blue planes (so the image below withouth the 3d green structure inside)https://www.researchgate.net/publication/258391165/figure/fig7/AS:322947316240401 at

3D plot with coordinates
Thanks. So after searching 4 hours last night it looks like that there is no R package that can do this right now. Any other ideas or suggestions might be helpful.RegardsAlex

3D plot with coordinates
HelloI have three x,y,z vectors (lets say each is set as ?rnorm(360)). So each one is having 360 elements each one correpsonding to angular coordinates (1 degree, 2 degrees, 3 degrees,.... 360 degrees) and I want to plot those on the xyz axes that have degress.
Is there a function or library to look at R cran? The ideal will be that after plotting I will be able to rotate the shape.

3d polar coordinates in rgl function view3d()
Dear all:
I'm enjoying using rgl and I want to set a specific viewpoint.
I understand that view3d() will do so by setting the 3d polar
coordinate angles, theta and phi.
In standard polar coordinates, theta is the angle away from the X axis
in the X-Y plane and phi (inclination angle) is the angle between the
Z axis and the radius vector
It appears that when you use view3d() theta is

change language at console
Hi all,I am a linux R user and my default R environemnt (after writing R in linux console) returns the error messages in German (I am not the system adminitstrator and I can not change system settings). I know that the English package is also installed so I guess I need to set some environmental variable for this.Any idea how I am doing that?

Polar coordinates - contour plots
Hello,
I have data for contour plot which is given in polar coordinates. Is
there a straightforward way to plot in polar coordinates in R, or do i
need to fiddle with transformations and then to sort the x and y
vectors to be in ascending order as required by contour function and
relatives?
Cheers,

code to convert 3D geographical coordinates to Cartesian?
Is there packaged code to convert geographical coordinates (e.g.,
longitude, latitude, elevation) to Cartesian coordinates in 3-space?
I can see how to do this using
1. a spherical-to-Cartesian conversion like pracma::sph2cart(tpr)
http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/pracma/
2. a geographical-to-spherical conversion. This seems to involve (in
roughly increasing order of difficulty or

add a color band
Hi all,
I would like to ask your help to add a color band (Ι am not sure regarding the right term, this color band at the right of the plot "describing" values with their corresponding color.
For now I have only this code
test<-matrix(data=runif(10000),nrow=100)
plot(test,axes="FALSE")
axis(1,at=c(0,1),labels=c("a","b")) #
but I would like to add

Polar plot, circular plot (angular data)
Dear R-users,
Hereby a polar plot function for plotting angular data. I hope it will be usefull for some of you.
I had a need to plot frequencies of wind-directions. The not-that-cheap SigmaPlot software did not allow me to change the orientation of the angular axis to clockwise orientation (what is used for meteorological observations). I even tried the latest version availible at the time

Missing value in circ.mean and polar.plot
Hi,
I try to compute circular means for a matrix with NAs, but the function "circ.mean" return only means for lines with complete values and do not accept "na.omit=T" or "na.rm=T", or "na.action=na.omit", or "na.fail=T".
Also, I try to use "polar.plot" of the package poltrix with the same matrix, but angles are not display because of

Polar plot, circular plot (angular data): II
Dear R-users,
As noted by Paul Murrell < p.murrell at auckland.ac.nz > there is errors in the code for polar plotting I send to R-help under the title "Polar plot, circular plot (angular data)" at Thu Oct 17 2002 - 12:18:20 CEST.
Thanks!
I have reorganized the code into a structure ('pp'). This allows plots to be modified to a greater extent by passing arguments by ...

Writing my 3D plot function
Hi all,I had a question last week on asking for a function that will help me draw three different circles on x,y,z axis based on polar coordinates (Each X,Y,Z circle are coming from three independent measurements of 1-360 polar coordinates). It turned out that there ?is no such function in R and thus I am trying to write my own piece of code that hopefully I will be able to share. I have spent

Polar coordinate
Greetings to you all.
I have two datasets - Time and magnitude. For a particular location, the
magnitude of the parameter varies with time. I wish to obtain a polar
coordinate distribution of time (0-24h) and magnitudes so as to visualize
how magnitude varies with different times of the day (e.g., morning,
midnight hours).
I have searched for "polar coordinates in R" but could not get

ggplot2, arrows and polar coordinates
Dear R users,
The following issue has been already documented, but, if I am not
mistaken, not yet solved.
This issue appears while trying to plot arrows with "geom_segment"
(package ggplot2), with polar coordinates ("coord_polar"). The direction
of some arrows is wrong (red rectangle). Please find herewith an example.
Does someone know how to deal with that issue?

polar plotting of complex quantities
Hello to everybody,
... and sorry if the question has already been answered.
I am dealing with complex numbers and need a way of plotting them on
angular plots (2D and 3D). Is there a package that already manage this,
or can somebody in this R-world who could help me with his skill ?
Thanks to all. Have a nice week-end !
