Update data in text file with data in dataframe
You might get someone on this last willing to invent something from scratch, but really this mailing list works best if you give very specific information, such as a verbatim copy of several records worth of your data file including all the stuff you want to skip over. Usually if someone is planning on inventing an example from scratch they make a blog post which you could find via search engine.

Update data in text file with data in dataframe
I think we need a bit more info on the data layout and what decision rule you are using to update the Date of Service. Are you just updating a record to provide the most recent DoS or are you correcting errors? lmer error:flist must be a non-empty list
Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me advice regarding using the lmer command in lme4 package to do logistic regression (mixed effects model). I use the following command lmer(ISH ~ArrayPathology2, random=~1|PatientID, data=HSDB4.noNA, family="binomial") where ISH is outcome(0 or 1), ArrayPathology2 is the variable of interest(factor), PatientID is random effect(factor), and

How do I include a factor in a groupedData object? Meaning and use of inner and outer parameters
Windows 10 64-bit, R-Studio, R version 3.4.3 Several questions relating to groupedData: (1) I am trying to create a groupedData object that can be used to run an analysis that I have been able to urn using lmer. When I include the interaction terms in the groupedData opbject I get an error message stating that + is not meaningful for factors. How do I include factors in my model? See code and

How do I include a factor in a groupedData object? Meaning and use of inner and outer parameters
Dear John You are only allowed to have the primary covariate on the left hand side of the vertical bar. Other covariates go in inner or outer. basic handling of data.frame
Hello, I'm new to R but wan't to use it to compute the statistics of my medical study. The study includes several parameters for a number of patients. Each parameter was assessed by a number of readers, once with a special condition, once without. Now I have a data.frame with colums like: PatientID, ReaderID, SpecialCond(yes/no), Parameter1, Parameter2..... the rows are not sorted, and

setgid failed - Not owner
Hello ALL, I got errors on a new installation, maybe I forgot something. The system is Solaris, Dovecot 1.2.10, Postfix 2.7.0, MySQL 5.1.25. Can send mail with dovecot imap, but can`t retrieve the messages. Strange, I can save and retrieve draft messages ok, files are always with postfix:postfix ownership. Sorry if this is newbie question, but can`t find a solution. Syslog info: Apr 19

Awk and Vilno
In clinical trial data preparation and many other data situations, the statistical programmer needs to merge and re-merge multiple input files countless times. A syntax for merging files that is clear and concise is very important for the statistical programmer's productivity. Here is how Vilno does it: inlist dataset1 dataset2 dataset3 ; joinby variable1 variable2 where ( var3<=var4 ) ;

How to change a venn command into a named object that can be plotted like a lattice object
Hello, I am plotting data as a venn diagram but would like to be able to control how it is plotted like a lattice object. Right now, it plots right away. I would like to name it and then plot at will. I thought to convert the whole thing to a PostScript file then get it back into R via grImport, but surely (please!) there must be a less roundabout way to do this. Any help is appreciated. Here

Configuration details for Asterisk interaction with Vocal
I have seen a number of people in this newsgroup asking for information regarding asterisk interworking with Vocal. I was able to configure Vocal and Asterisk so that calls originating from vocal can land on an extension in Asterisk. I would like to share this info with the group The scenario that I tested was as follows. A call was originated from extn. 1001 on Vocal and the call was made to

Histogram plots in Lattice with spatialgrid dataframe data
Glad you found an answer, though it looks more self-educational than efficient (see suggestions below). In the future, follow the recommendations of the Posting Guide: use plain text, and provide a reproducible example. Some elaborations on what "reproducible" means are [1][2][3]. One issue here was that you did not include sample data to work with (I have assumed below that ann_bias has

Snom 360 Hinting tricks
I was always puzzled by posts to the list about people having problems getting hints to work on a Snom, since I always seem to have no problem making it work. That is, until today when I tried to get a sidecar to work. All I could do was get a monitored extension light to light up continuously, regardless of state. Frustrating! Going back to my working dialplans where I got 1 or 2 lights working

Histogram plots in Lattice with spatialgrid dataframe data
Hello all, After more digging I was able to find out how to do this. The answer came from an example here: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/3541713/how-to-plot-two-histograms-together-in-r yr_1997<-data.frame(bias=ann_bias$bias1997) yr_1998<-data.frame(bias=ann_bias$bias1998) yr_1999<-data.frame(bias=ann_bias$bias1999) yr_2000<-data.frame(bias=ann_bias$bias2000)
