Multivariate binary response analysis
Greetings ~ I need some assistance determining an appropriate approach to analyzing multivariate binary response data, and how to do it in R. The setting: Data from an assay, wherein 6-hours-post-fertilization zebrafish embryos (n=20, say) are exposed in a vial to a chemical (replicated 3 times, say), and 5 days later observed for the presence/absence (1/0) of defects in several organ systems

About adding bricks ...
Hi @all, I've created a Distributed-Replicated Volume consisting of 4 bricks on 2 servers. # gluster volume create glusterfs replica 2 transport tcp \ gluster0{0..1}:/srv/gluster/exp0 gluster0{0..1}:/srv/gluster/exp1 Now I have the following very nice replication schema: +-------------+ +-------------+ | gluster00 | | gluster01 | +-------------+ +-------------+ | exp0 | exp1 |

transposing data
Hi. I have repeated measures data of the form where each observation is a trial, and trials are grouped by subject, and variables encode whatever level of a factor was present during that trial, and the dependent variable is response time (RT). I want to transpose the data to a form suitable for MANOVA such that there is one observation per subject and RT is recoded across many

Slow, Incorrect Group Resolution through Winbind
Hello. I am observing some strange behavior on a Linux system that has joined a Windows Active Directory domain using the Samba suite. Our servers are based on Ubuntu v12.04 but have kernel v3.12.17 and Samba v4.3.6. The problem that I'm trying to understand is that group name resolution through Winbind occasionally fails. Here's an example where one group name could not be resolved. This

Strange p-level for the fixed effect with lme function
Hello, I ran two lme analyses and got expected results. However, I saw something suspicious regarding p-level for fixed effect. Models are the same, only experimental designs differ and, of course, subjects. I am aware that I could done nesting Subjects within Experiments, but it is expected to have much slower RT (reaction time) in the second experiment, since the task is more complex, so it

ridiculous behaviour printing to eps: labels all messed up!
OK, this is really weird! here's an example code: t1<-c(1,2,3,4) t2<-c(4,2,4,2) plot(t1~t2, xlab="exp1", ylab="exp2") dev.copy2eps(file="test.eps") that all seems fine... until you look at the eps file created, where for some weird reason, if you scroll down to the end, the code reads: /Font1 findfont 12 s 0 setgray 214.02 18.72 (e) 0 ta -0.360 (xp1) tb

keytabs basics linux <=> AD ?
hi users a novice here hoping to grasp fundamentals soon I have a samba+sssd as a client to an AD - I have all the keytabs for a host(I think) but I noticed weird(to me at least) smbclient behavior. when I do: $ smbclient -L swir -U me at AAA.PRIVATE.DOM -k all works, clients sees local samba's shares, when I do: $ smbclient -L swir.private.aaa.private.dom -U pe243 at AAA.PRIVATE.DOM -k

Bug in R -e "command"
Hi all: since about a month we encountered a problem with R -e command: spaces in the "command" of R -e "command" are no more tolerated. This same issue affects 2.11 patched (05-05-2010), 2.10.1, and current devel (at least the one of two weeks ago). (I skip the mid of the printouts, replaced with ...) * R -e "message('aaa aaa')" ARGUMENT

sip.conf and SIP client host= not recognized in some cases
I am seeing an issue with getting certain sip devices to be recognized as defined SIP clients host= in the sip.conf and the only deference that I can find btw sources that work and don't work is that devices that send packets with an Initial Via header of themselves appears to work and pick the context correctly but those that don't have the Via just get dropped in the context of the

Can a matrix have 'list' as rows/columns?
After a lot of processing I get a matrix into M. I expected each row and column to be a vector. But it is a list. R-Inferno says... "Arrays (including matrices) can be subscripted with a matrix of positive numbers. The subscripting matrix has as many columns as there are dimensions in the array—so two columns for a matrix. The result is a vector (not an array) containing the selected

simple if...else causes syntax error
I am trying to do the simplest thing in the world. The following works: aaa <- ifelse(aaa==5, 6, 7) But if I want to change the if...else syntax instead, it gives errors and assigns 7 to aaa. Here is the problem code: aaa <- 5 if ( aaa==5 ) { aaa <- 6 } else { aaa <- 7 } Here is the output: > aaa <- 5 > if ( aaa==5
