How to configure NT/ptmp with Dahdi and BRI ?
Hi,
In my lab, I'm testing BRI spans in NT/ptmp mode.
My setup is:
asterisk 11.2.1
libpri 1.4.14
dahdi 2.6.1
wctdm24xxp (HA8 hybrid with B400M)
SIP phone <----> Asterisk with HA8 <----> Patton SN4638 <----> Asterisk
<----> SIP phone
The single BRI line I'm testing remains down:
CLI> pri show spans
PRI span 1/0: In Alarm, Up, Active

ChanSpy performance sub-optimal
I'm trying to get ChansSpy to work. It works, in the pass/fail sense, but it
is difficult to understand the various speakers. I can hear users on our end
just fine, but the other end sounds like their going through a vocoder, if I
can understand them at all. Otherwise it is just garbled. We are using the
following setup: all of our phones are SIP phones; for our outgoing calls we
make use of a

Custom CentOS DVD, isolinux.bin, and isohybrid...
I was given a custom CentOS 5.4 DVD, containing some Digium software for one of our customers. I need to turn this burned DVD into an image that can be written to a USB thumb drive. First, I ripped the DVD to an ISO image. That part works OK, my testing VM can load and run the custom kickstart script on the image. After totally frying my unetbootin install, I decided to try and use isohybrid

Problem with attended transfers...
We have two Asterisk servers running CVS-HEAD (06/02/05 and 06/28/05).
Most of our calls are either incoming or outgoing to external (PSTN
or non-Asterisk) numbers, and only our internal users can initiate the
transfer. Only half of the attended transfers work. It goes like
this:
1)Extension 8123 calls number 19876543210
2)During the call, extension 8123 dials *2 to do an attended

RT/Linux SCHED_RR/_FIXED to combat latency?
Good morning!
We're experiencing rather very bad latency spikes on busy Linux
systems, for example if one machine is the jumphost (ssh -J) for a few
hundred connections, while at the same time handles CPU intensive
tasks.
Would RT/Linux SCHED_FIXED or SCHED_RR be of help in such a case, e.g.
put all ssh processes into the SCHED_FIXED scheduling class, with a
priority higher than the

Asterisk 10/1.6.1 and Dahdi/Libpri compatilities in BRI /PtmP
Hi,
After an upgrade, I discovered yesterday strange things I would like
to share here.
Basically, I'me comparing platforms:
The first one is a 2.6.26 (Debian Lenny) platform, with Asterisk
1.6.1.18, Libpri 1.4.10.2, Dahdi revision 8853 (must be between 2.3
and 2.5, I think).
The second one is a 2.6.32 (Debian Squeeze) platform, with Asterisk
10.5.1, Libpri 1.4.12, Dahdi 2.6.1.
Both are

PRI timing settings
Hello,
I wrote earlier today about a new PRI installation in the Caribbean,
where all outbound calls are functioning fine *except* calls to Sprint
phone numbers, which get rejected immediately as "busy".
The telco has been working with their switch manufacturer and took the
output of "pri show span 1" from me and came back with this:

mISDN: No DID/extension information returns busy to caller
I'm running a setup with chan_misdn on a austrian PTP-line. When
somebody dials in without an extension, he gets a busy signal.
I don't see the call at all in asterisk.
I *have* set immediate=yes in misdn.conf. And I *do* have an s-extension
in my dialplan for the context used by misdn. Calls that provide an
extension work fine.
Attached is my misdn.conf and a verbose 3, misdn set debug
