dovecot & Apple Mail & maildir & lots of Mail
Hi, Using Mac Mail with 9 mail accounts, more than 150 folders, and 1000s of mails, I get far too many problems lately, and not only on dovecot, so I would say the problem lies with Mac Mail, and even more if you installed Yosemite. As far as I know dovecot handle very well accounts with 100000s email even if the size is very big. And BTW, looking for a fast and reliable mail client for Mac, to

Verizon Vonage 101
I've dug down as far as I could on www.uspto.gov for anything remotely close to what is going on with Verizon and all searches end with only two possibilities in regards to what is going on. So unless the patent was issued to someone else and Verizon bought it, these are the only two possible patents this case could be based on... US 7,142,646 B2 Voice mail integration with instant

SBC's and ssh's encryptions
Greetings everybody; I have 2 questions today, but to put them in context, I'll describe the setup first. I am in the process of cnc'ing an old Sheldon metal lathe. These can make large amounts of flying metal chips & stringers when doing what they do, so its paramount that the electronics to run them are either far enough away, or put in a box thats well sealed, with fans in

Differences between IDLE when Maildir vs. wel the "mail" folder is used
Are there any differences with how both IDLE and "UID FETCH n:n+x (FLAGS UID...)" are handled when Dovecot is using a "mail" vs. a "Maildir" user? I have recently implemented support for IDLE (Push E-mail) in a client infrastructure that I'm building. I haven't in depth checked out what the problem might be, but when Dovecot was using the "mail" dir

Help for 3D Plotting Data on 'Irregular' Grid
Dear All, Here is what I am trying to achieve: I would like to plot some data in 3D. Usually, one has a matrix of the kind y_1(x_1) , y_1(x_2).....y_1(x_i) y_2(x_1) , y_2(x_2).....y_2(x_i) ........................................... y_n(x_1) , y_n(x_2)......y_n(x_i) where e.g. y_2(x_1) is the value of y at time 2 at point x_1 (see that the grid in x is the same for the y values at all times).

A unique 'click to call' project - Could use some advice
Hello List, I work for an IP communication provider in upstate NY as the engineer assisting our technical support team. We provide a number of different Telco systems to residential subscribers; and in an effort to more effectively trouble shoot termination problems I came up with the idea of creating a click to call system that will allow our agents to effortlessly place test calls. PCI Hotplugging - Could I juggle a video card and other devices between running DomUs?
Hello List! As I venture a little further down the Xen rabbit hole, I''ve gotten myself wondering: could I script the use of "xm pci-attach" and "xm pci-detach" such that I can shift all of my difficult-to-virtualize PCI devices, such as video card[s], USB controllers, audio devices, and so on, from one running DomU to another? Give myself a button or key

[LLVMdev] LLVM from .NET
I've been struggling to get LLVM to work from .NET using the llvm-fs bindings for the past few weeks. I finally found an installation procedure that works and documented it here: http://fsharpnews.blogspot.com/2012/03/using-llvm-from-f-under-windows.html The good news is that I have that program compiling the Fibonacci function and executing it from F# all via LLVM. However, I still have a

R-Google interface: Google summer of code
I use R for data management and ongoing data analysis for amongst other things, a multi-center medical research project. I have found Google spreadsheets to be a fantastic way for all collaborators to be on the same page. Furthermore, Google Forms allows one to capture data from respondents and effortlessly write it to a google spreadsheet. Currently, one has to manually download the spreadsheet

ao: Sun audio plug-in
Here's the promised Sun audio system plug-in. I have tested this on OpenBSD. It should work without changes on NetBSD, too. Jeremy, could you please verify this? After a few minor tweaks it now also compiles on Solaris 2.7. Alas, I can't verify whether it actually plays anything there. I guess this could also with little effort be made to work on SunOS4. fixes for quota support on NetBSD
Hi! dovecot-2.2.13 already has quota support for NetBSD, but it's buggy. The attached patches by Manuel Bouyer <bouyer at NetBSD.org> fix the issues. There is one thing that's not nice in them: one include is now for "/usr/include/quota.h" since dovecot comes with its own file "quota.h" which is earlier in the search path. Perhaps dovecot's copy can be

samba performance when writing lots of small files
hi there, running a simple test like time for s in $(seq 0 9999); do echo hello > world-$s; done takes a little more than a minute on a locally mounted test share on our samba server. the same test finishes in about 5 seconds when it is run on the server's file system, without samba. i understand that dealing with many small files isn't exactly the sweet spot of any (networked) file

Re: Which distributed file system for xen
Thanks John and Chris for your commentary. I''m constantly amazed at what is out there -- projects I didn''t know existed. I think Chris and I are looking for something similiar -- fault tolerant/high-availability over slow/fast links with ease of administration and (ideally) zero downtime. I''d like to virtualize my storage along with my Xen machines. After looking at
