smb protocol version
I don't have any lines in my configuration file for any of the servers,
how can I tell what the default protocols are?
Are the defaults controlled by samba or the kernel?

Changing ownership of files on Windows (net rpc rights?)
Hello,
I am unable to change ownership of Samba shares on Windows. It makes no
difference if Samba is a PDC or if it is a member server in an Active
Directory. I am running Samba 4.1.9 on FreeBSD 9.2 with ZFS. I can
easily change ownership locally on the FreeBSD box, however, when trying
to do it from Windows it errors out with access is denied. I've
attempted to use net rpc rights grant

SSL + compression?
OK, my interested is piqued now - does anyone have a recipe for how to
make openssl compress the traffic before encrypting it? (Or perhaps it
does by default?)

appropriate test in glm when the family is Gamma
Dear R users,
Which test is most appropriate in glm when the family is Gamma?
In the help page of anova.glm, I found the following
?For models with known dispersion (e.g., binomial and Poisson fits) the chi-squared test is most appropriate, and for those with dispersion estimated by moments (e.g., gaussian, quasibinomial and quasipoisson fits) the F test is most appropriate.?

[PATCH V3 0/3] networking: Use ETH_ALEN where appropriate
Convert the uses mac addresses to ETH_ALEN so
it's easier to find and verify where mac addresses
need to be __aligned(2)
Change in V2:
- Remove include/acpi/actbl2.h conversion
It's a file copied from outside ACPI sources
Changes in V3:
- Don't move the pasemi_mac.h mac address to be aligned(2)
Just note that it's unaligned.

[LLVMdev] Appropriate DS for implementing worklist
If you don't care about efficiency you can push (or at least insert) at the
front of a(small or otherwise) vector.

Looking for an appropriate forum
Sorry to bust in, folks, but I'm having some trouble integrating the
OpenSSH RPMs in my Red Hat 6.1 system and was hoping somebody could
point me at an appropriate place to ask my newbie questions. (I've been
over the docs and they don't seem to apply to the problems I'm having.)

[is this appropriate?] Anyone work for voicepulse or have experience with them
I hope this is appropriate for this list. I'm guessing that responses should probably
be sent directly to me? (off-list)
We're looking at voicepulse (www.voicepulse.com) because they seem to be
offering the exact service we want ... they claim to be asterisk friendly ...
but I'm a little concerned because I have questions I'd like to ask, and there's
NO way to contact them
