winbind finds all domain users except Administrator
I tried mapping to root but I still get an ACCESS_DENIED when I try to mount a share from the domain member. I'd be very surprised if the samba admin account is the one and only account that is intentionally denied from accessing shares on a member. I'm pretty sure this is a bug. I tried this again with two clean installs (4.7.1) on Linux, one in a VM. Compare this on the DC: #

Problem with one User after upgrade to 4.5.0
Well I upgraded from 4.4.6 to 4.5.0 and discovered that one of my user accounts is completely borked. What is very strange is that everything in Samba looks okay. Here is the first problem symptom. The data is from the DC. total 80 drwxr-xr-x. 7 root root 4096 Oct 9 01:15 . drwx------+ 77 SAMDOM\prg-11868bg SAMDOM\domain users 20480 Oct 9 00:55

setting up a new ADS infrastructure
I try to set up a small ADS infrastructure: 1 samba ADS-controller, 1 samba file server, 2 Linux and 6 Windows clients. Starting with controller and file server, quite a lot of things work, but not everything. Here it starts getting complicate: looking for manuals, googling for error messages leads to lots of different advices for different versions... not easy. There are open questions, but I am

Authentication with trusted credentials
Some more details. Below is what I have during joining Linux (Ubuntu 20.04) to the SVITLA3 domain. SVITLA3 (Samba) is trusting, APEX (AD) is trusted. SVITLA3 has *administrator *and *test01 *users, APEX has *administrator *and *jake *users. test01 - 20000:20000 (uidNumber:gidNumber) jake - 10000:10000 You can see some delay in some places - I marked them bold. It looks like DNS timeouts. The

domain member idmap wbinfo WBC_ERR_DOMAIN_NOT_FOUND
Hi, I've done a classic upgrade to from samba 3.6.23 to samba 4.6.5 bringing across all the user accounts. The samba 3.6.23 we set up with smbldap as an NT Domain with OpenLDAP. After a lot of effort the classic upgrade worked well but now I'm a bit stuck with idmapping. The new AD DC is running 4.6.5 on CentOS7 and I can connect using ADUC. I set up a separate AD DM on a another CentOS7
