ext3 performance mystery
Help solving a performance mystery would be welcome. I have two test programs: * one totally CPU bound (it just infinitely loops) * the other I/O bound (it loops, each time doing * a write, * an fsync or fdatasync (I get similar behavior with either), * an lseek to back up to the same position again Under ext2, if I run these two together, they each run nearly as fast as

samba AD - bind - deleted DNS entries are not removed completely
So in my case - is it safe to delete directly using ldbdel or using windows ADSI gui ldap editor? Or is there another way? What is the right way to do it? something like: ldbdel -H /usr/local/samba/private/sam.ldb -b"DC=DomainDnsZones,DC=mydomain,DC=com '(dNSTombstoned: TRUE)' ? I read in samba 4.9 new features release notes about scavenging but I'm not sure if it's the

encoding very slow (pauses while encoding)
Hello, I use the flac-113.bat batch file provided by synthetic_soul to convert files from older flac version and have found that it works great with one exception. I have thousands of flac files and I drag the highest level directory to the script which starts the recursive process and everything looks great at first (encoding window shows constant progress). But if I come back a few hours

Performance tuning of Samba4.1 LDAP CRUD operations
Hi, I would like to accelerate CURD operation of LDAP. Please let me know a tuning setup of OS or Samba. Although I am performing shift verification to Samba 4.1.12 from OpenLDAP 2.3, the CURD operation using a LDAP interface becomes 1/10 or less speed compared with OpenLDAP. Although this OpenLDAP is performing an optimized tuning setup, Samba is in the default state immediately after carrying

FSMO Roles / DC Deletion Errors
Hi all- I've been polishing my Samba4 AD set-up as we get close to deploying it the office. However, one thing that I'm having issues with is FSMO roles and DCs. The gist of the situation is that I can not demote the original DC. Both DCs are implemented with Samba4, running the same version (4.0.3) and have replication working* Here is a summary of everything I've noticed: ?

the puzzle of eigenvector and eigenvalue
Dear all I am so glad the R can provide the efficient calculate about eigenvector and eigenvalue. However, i have some puzzle about the procedure of eigen. Fristly, what kind of procedue does the R utilize such that the eigen are obtained? For example, A=matrix(c(1,2,4,3),2,2) we can define the eigenvalue lamda, such as det | 1-lamda 4 | =0 | 2 3-lamda | then

Replication Problem with Deleted Object on Samba 4.1.17 [SOLVED]
Hello List, had the same issue. After upgrading to samba 4.3.4, a samba-tool dbcheck -cross-ncs showed several errors like: ERROR: wrong dn[DC=RZBT,CN=Deleted Objects,DC=DomainDnsZones,DC=local] name='RZBT\nDEL:a7a6bd53-f702-4f2e-a217-4abfa0d343b8' new_dn[DC=RZBT\0ADEL:a7a6bd53-f702-4f2e-a217-4abfa0d343b8,CN=Deleted Objects,DC=DomainDnsZones,DC=local] Not renaming DC=RZBT,CN=Deleted

samba 4.8 with bind - bugged dns entry in reverse lookup zone
Thank You for the prompt reply. By "sam.ldb" you mean the samba/bind-dns/dns/sam.ldb right? After executing: ldbsearch --cross-ncs -H /path/to/samba/bind-dns/dns/sam.ldb '(name=49)' I do find same records, as with previous search including the one I need to delete as it is bugged. It's dn is:

I can't join to an existing domain (yet)
People: I have not solved my problem. I have only one DC with Zentyal 3.4 and I want to change it by samba 4.1.16. That's why if I can't join the samba to the existing domain I would not do anything else. The samba server error is this: (Command from samba) samba-tool domain join dtcf.etecsa.cu DC -U administrator --realm=DTCF.ETECSA.CU --dns-backend=BIND9_DLZ (Response) No

hi, I listed the 0ADEL entries with the command below and didn't find the object. # ldbsearch --cross-ncs --show-deleted -H /var/lib/samba/private/sam.ldb | grep "\0ADEL" I tried to delete using the command below, but it says it doesn't exist. # ldbdel -H /var/lib/samba/private/sam.ldb "<GUID=44b7fb44-1a88-42a4-854b-60bddd391577>" --show-deleted --relax delete

I have no idea, mainly because I have never done what the OP did. Basically the dns records are just ldap records, so you may be able to delete them with ldbdel , but you will need to find the DN's to delete
