Winbind + pam_mkhomedir (case sensitive names) problem
Hi!
I?m using windbind to authenticate an NT domain users. It works well,
however when an user logs, it can use upper o lowercase letters, and
that is ok. But pam_mkhomedir creates diferent case sensitive home dirs
each time, even if shell prompt shows the name the propper way.
Has anyone dealed with this issue ?. What is the best solution?.
Thanks in advance !

Help! How do I make Samba3 + Winbind drop the domain\ on a user's account?
Hello,
We have moved from PBIS to Samba + winbind.
In PBIS, after logging in to a SSH session, the prompt (user context?) would be: username at hostname:
Now, after logging in, the prompt is: domain\username at hostname:
How do I make it drop the "domain\" ?
This causes issues in other areas as passing "\" is an illegal character.
Should we change the "\" to

Hi,
I am integrating the existing my domain with the samba4. For that, I

Heterogeneous mix OS smb share home redirection
I have been reading every article I can find to determine how to share home
directory redirection across multiple OS workstations.
The end result I am looking for is to store user home directory on a member
server and allow (in my case) Windows and Linux (Ubuntu in my case)
workstations to access their home directory in a single sign (to any OS)
situation. (On Ubuntu, leaning toward using winbind

Winbind and space in username
I have winbind & samba (2.2.5) set up to provide home shares to users of our
Windows NT domain. I have also gotten pam_mkhomedir to work properly to
automatically create their home directory. Connecting to
\\sambaserver\homes works well for this.
However, I have a problem if an NT Domain username contains a space. I
cannot figure out how to work around this. Their home directory gets
