"no shared cypher", no matter what I try
Greetings, I have had to reinstall my email server on another Linux (centos 7.6) VPS, with a newer version of dovecot, other software and a brand new letsencrypt certificate just for email withpostfix and dovecot (that certificate works fine with postfix). Output of dovecot --version and dovecot -n on the new server is below. Now, messages ARE delivered in the right IMAP mailboxes, but when I try

Is the "\\x.x.x.x" type tree connect request a client related feature?
Is the samba server a domain controller? Is this a classic domain or an Active Directory domain. If you are using a classic domain you probably want a WINS server configured. I find it works better if the primary domain controller is also the WINS server. In a classic domain, keep the "smb ports" as the default ( "smb ports = 445 139.") What is the

No takers thus far. These are the Samba 4.2 changes to which I previously referred (https://www.samba.org/samba/history/samba-4.2.0.html) : For the client side we have the following new options: "require strong key" (yes by default), "reject md5 servers" (no by default). E.g. for Samba 3.0.37 you need "require strong key = no" and for NT4 DCs

Registering Windows 2012 impossible into samba4 after migration
hello, We've just migrated our samba PDC v3.4.5 (FreeBSD) to samba v4.1.17 (Debian wheezy) with samba4 classic upgrade. Most of the stations works fine. When I try to register a Windows 2012 as a member into the new Samba AD, Windows 2012 says it cannot authenticate the user used for registering the new host into the domain. Of course, this user have admin privileges into the AD target

You may have included this in another email however I will ask anyway, did you set DNS to your server in the Linux and Windows clients? Can you check if a Windows Server can join? Can you use DNS management to check the DNS on you samba server? On Mar 28, 2016 2:15 PM, "Dale Schroeder" <dale at briannassaladdressing.com> wrote: > No takers thus far. These are the Samba 4.2

I have an NT domain on Debian Stretch. It's been upgraded numerous times, but has been running for almost a decade. Since upgrading from 4.1.17 to 4.3.3 (huge Debian jump), then to 4.3.6, clients cannot connect to shares. Prior to upgrading, I found the changes mentioned for 4.2 regarding NT domains and applied them. Even so, I still cannot connect to network shares nor print to

Samba PDC not in network environment (Windows 7/8)
I recently changed my clients (3 notebooks, 2 desktop pcs) from Windows XP Pro to Windows 7/8 Pro. I followed the guides that can be found on samba.org and all over the internet. Client migration worked after some minor trouble. There is only one thing left that I could no resolve the last few days. All clients see each other under "Network" but no client sees my samba server.
