NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED listing \* on Samba AD - out of the blue
I have a Samba AD running Samba 4.7.5. Everything was working fine,
when, seemingly out of the blue, the users started to be denied access
to all shares. If I try from a Windows 7 or Windows 10 machine, logged
in as a user in "Domain Uses", I get:
"Windows cannot access \\server-name\share_name. You do not have
permission to access \\server-name\share_name"

Help - Mounting a Windows computer with two IP addresses
Hi all,
I need to mount a Windows share locally on my laptop. However, I cannot
do this via
sudo mount -t smbfs //host_name/share_name /local_mount
because the host_name has two IP addresses with it as shown by nmblookup
//host_name.
(That is, I try mounting and I'm given this error:
mount error(115): Operation now in progress
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)

accessing files on XP box from Linux Box
Like many, I'm trying to make the move from Windows to Linux.
Unfortunately, I'm not the only one who works at my company. The primary
file server is a Windows XP Pro machine. There is a share on this
machine that I must connnect to.
As a first step, I'm trying to connect to this shared directory from my
new Linux workstation.
After many hours of combing through documentation and

[LLVMdev] Mips's MicroMips ??
Hello Daniel,
At the moment we are preparing the patch for disassembling microMIPS 16 bit instructions and it will be on Phabricator tomorrow or on Wednesday.
Functionality is implemented in MipsDisassembler::getInstruction where first two bytes are read and decodeInstruction is called with DecoderTableMicroMips16 and only if it fails we read 4 bytes and call decodeInstruction with

can't see share from win2000
I have a home network with samba running on my gentoo machine. The samba
share is visible to all my home machines (XP home edition and win95). My
work laptop (win2000) however, does not show the share in the network
neighborhood. When I try to connect to the share directly by typing \

prexec change between 3.0.24 to 3.0.25
Hello,
I've been testing out 3.0.25 before putting it into production and came
across an issue.
As a simple example..
in a share definition
root preexec = echo "hey there, hi there, hello" > /tmp/hiya.txt
works fine under 3.0.24
not so under 3.0.25, /tmp/hiya.txt isn't created.
Cranking up the debugging and using some other similiar tests it seems
to me that Samba is in

[LLVMdev] Mips's MicroMips ??
Hi,
We have this line in micromips-16-bit-instructions.s
# CHECK-EB: addu16 $6, $17, $4 # encoding: [0x07,0x42]
However, when I check this with llvm-mc, like below, I dont get back the
assembly.
This is against the latest LLVM code. What is wrong here?
Thanks,
Jun

win98 browsing problem across VPN subnets
I have just setup a VPN connection three sites using IPCOP.
Everything seems to be talking ok, apart from browsing the network neighborhood. There are no NT/Win2K/XP servers running on any of the sites, all sites are just running win98 pc's using tcp/ip. I have tried configuring all PC's to be on the same workgroup and setup sharing, but still each site can only see the pc's

samba doesn't release external usb device
HI all :-)
Using debian stable (samba version 2:3.2.5-4 ) often I mount ntfs partition
(using mount.ntfs-3g) of a usb external disk. So I can access from my lan to
this usb disk.
[usb0]
path=/media/usb0
writable = yes
browseable = no
valid users = nick
[...]
when I finish to use this disk and I try to umount it samba doesn't release
this the disk:
