I once had a similar problem with Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2. The game's menu screen is hard coded for 800x600. As I understand it, Wine uses the xrandr extension to change resolutions. Playing around with the xrandr

wine don't handle hard coded resolutions & refresh rates?
I'm trying to play Silent Hunter 3 using 0.9.57. I get my wine from the wine Ubuntu repository and I use Ubuntu 7.10. Silent Hunter 3 uses a hard coded resolution and refresh rate of 1024x768x32bit at 50Hz. But I have an 1680x1050x24bit at 60Hz monitor. I use the nvidia-glx-new version 100.14.19+2.6.22.4-14.10. There is a patch available from the Silent Hunter 3 page, but it is for source

Trying to get a cdwriter to write to loop device
I'm trying to use a shareware program called PowerISO to extract a .daa cd image to a raw iso9660 format so that I can view the contents. PowerISO runs like this: ________________ [nate@blackbox ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/PowerISO]$ sudo wine cdburn.exe Password: Usage: cdburn <drive> -erase [image [options]] cdburn <drive> image [options] Options:

[Patch] credit: Update other parameters when setting tslice_ms
From: Nate Studer <nate.studer@dornerworks.com> Add a utility function to update the rest of the timeslice accounting fields when updating the timeslice of the credit scheduler, so that capped CPUs behave correctly. Before this patch changing the timeslice to a value higher than the default would result in a domain not utilizing its full capacity and changing the timeslice to a value lower

Cost of garbage collection seems excessive
When doing repeated regressions on large data sets, I'm finding that the time spent on garbage collection often exceeds the time spent on the regression itself. Consider this test program which I'm running on an Intel Haswell i7-4470 processor under Linux 3.13 using R 3.1.2 compiled with ICPC 14.1: nate at haswell:~$ cat > gc.R library(speedglm) createData <- function(n) {

[LLVMdev] MachO writer test cases
Nate, Right, okay. I was also planning on looking at what the assembly output generates and "emulating" its output. So I should be able to use the 'test/CodeGen/PowerPC' tests once I have augmented the MachO Writer PowerPC output. Does this seem like the right and sensible approach ? HVM - BIOS serial console redirection?
I realized this is probably better suited for the devel list.. basically, is there any way in the BOCHS bios to enable ''Serial Console Redirection'', where you see the BIOS contents over the serial line? Windows 2003''s ''Emergency Management Services'' console (which allows you to do installs and fix stuff over the serial line) requires this to

unstable refresh rate
I think I may have updated the tv firmware between when it worked and when it didn't. I wonder it it has to do with bit depth. I use lubuntu and it doesn't let me pick the bit depth so I don't know what it using.

The Team is In Place
Hello Everyone, I''d like to just officially announce that the new volunteers are in charge and given control of the project. I won''t be doing anything more than helping them get ramped up, but they''ll be in charge of doing all the stuff you folks want and are basically the owners from now on. Everyone in the new volunteer list will probably do a little announce, but

[LLVMdev] [DRAFT] Announcement for LLVM 1.6 [DRAFT]
The vector LLVA extension will not be merged into the 1.6 release branch? It will make me have to merge twice: one for 1.6 and one for vector LLVA. When do you plan to merge the vector LLVA to the main trunk, please?
