Printing eats my CPU
Hi all, I still have several problems with the printing system. The most critical is, that some drivers seem to cause an infinite RPC loop. I have a KYOCERA Mita KM 4230 KX driver installed. In this moment I can see SPOOLSS_GET_PRINTER and SPOOLSS_GET_PRINTERDATA requests and RPC responses on the net. Stracing the smbd process looks like this: ... pread(16,

problem with printer drivers
Hallo, I'm running a Samba 2.2.5 server on a SuSE 8.1 box. I setup a [print$] share at server pslag, following the documentation. I have a [printer$] share too. Without it, Samba wouldn't export my cups printers for browsing. My config file is like that: [global] : printing = cups printcap name = CUPS printer admin = root load printers = Yes : [printers]

HP Jetdirect, Intel Netport, Samba, And Windows XP
Hello, I have a bunch of Windows XP Pro machines, Samba 2.2.4, and several plotters on Jetdirect cards, and several printers on Netport 10/100 Muli-port network print servers. I have successfully configured Samba 2.2.4 to allow Windows XP to join the domain controlled by Samba and automaticaly create its own computer account on Samba. I would now like to setup Samba to share all the printers

different mask for directory inside another share
Hello, let's assume we have: [$someshare] path = /some/path create mask = 0644 directory mask = 0755 Within /some/path there's directory named dir1 for example (/some/path/dir1). Is it possible to define alternative masks for that particular directory without presenting it as a different share. My second question - is it possible to define write list for /some/path/dir1 only. --

Hi David, Configured as you mention, and prior with the other tweaks I had in the first place, Im getting the same results, which is "FSUTIL utility requires a Local NTFS Volume", and mapping it. I then went to contig, `contig -n X:\share\sparesefile 0`, as well as a few other size. Maybe im using it wrong, but some testing on contig has only "Access is denied" when I try

For some reason It's not erroring now, I will look into it more, but I suspect it鈥檚 the settings, the last thing mentioned David > [globa]l section is fine, as long as it's not also set in the share section. So, yeah, that may have fixed im for the time being not getting the sparse errors, for the first time in 4 months, however, there is a couple other problems, so hopefully they

Asterisk - fax - spandsp
Dear all I have a Asterisk server (version 1.0.7) running with a TE110P card on a 3Ghz P4 machine (running nothing else but asterisk) So far so good. Today I was trying to receive faxes using spandsp fax client. I used spandsp v0.0.2pre18 (which compiled against libtiff 3.5.7) It compiled fine, installed fine, run fine. But when sending a fax (from a Brother fax machine) the image received

[git patches] Ocfs2 and Configfs updates for 2.6.27
I'm running a bit late with the e-mail this time around, but I think that's ok since there really isn't any major new features here - the bulk of the Ocfs2 update is bug fixes, or cleanups. The same goes for configfs. The only two things that could be described as features would be: - Sunil has updated Ocfs2 to provide even more live cluster locking information via debugfs. - Joel

tink solution and mesh
Hi. I read that one feature of tink vpn solution is the Automatic Full Mesh Routing support that is defined as: "regardless of how you set up the tinc daemons to connect to each other, VPN traffic is always (if possible) sent directly to the destination, without going through intermediate" hops. What this means? I don't understand how this work. Can you please give me some

AIX 5.3 Active Directory Synchronisation using Winbind
I have been trying to get AIX 5.3 ML-11 integrated with MS AD (MS-2003 with SP2 and SFU 3.5). It has given me a few y hairs. I have not been able to get it to function correctly. I have followed various tech articles and installation notes that I have found on the web. They are all basically the same in that they suggest to either compile the required components from scratch or to use the
