Corrupted idmap...
OK, I noticed that also, but why does everything return
NT_STATUS_INVALID_SID? Even if I run "smbclient -L \\localhost -U
adminnamehere" on the DC itself, I get the error. At this point we are
looking at erasing every workstation, wiping the DC, and starting from
scratch. It has been a week and not even rolling back to 4.4 fixed it.
What should my next steps be? I attached the server

Has anyone any insight as to why RedHat Enterprise Level 5 is broken as far as PXE booting is concerned.
Hi ALL
Has anyone any insight as to why RedHat Enterprise Level 5 is broken as far as PXE booting is concerned.
Is there a Protocol communication problem ????????
Are there alternative tftp-severs that work for the RHEL5..
It seems:
the PXE CLIENT when booting cannot access files in the "pxelinux.cfg" dir

Shares requiring "Everyone" access...
I believe I have found either a bug or something I do not understand. I
recently had a file-share issue and the resolution was to set the
"others" permissions to 5, read and execute. The problem with this is
that once I am in Windows on a workstation, this appears to allow
"Everyone", "CREATOR OWNER", and "CREATOR GROUP" access. We normally

Asterisk 11.Why two NOTIFY while ringing ?
Hello,
On a Asterisk 11.12.0, I'm studying BLF behaviour with Yealink phones.
My ultimate goal is to present Operator the name and number of every
incoming call so that he/she can if it's worth to pickup a ringing
incoming call.
I've discovered notifycid option in sip.conf.
When a call comes in, I can see that Asterisk is sending two
successive NOTIFY messages while the target is

Samba 4 AD share: Access denied
I have been using Samba4 for ages and love it as a DC and a
print-server. I just setup my first member-server designed solely to
host file shares, and have hit an issue. Group policy is mapping it
correctly for the users in the group, but those users are getting an
access denied message from their Windows 7 Pro 64bit clients when
accessing the share. I have configured ACLs and the box

FWD and (multiple) internal IPs
My Asterisk box also does NAT for internal network, and establishes site-to-site VPN tunnel(s). As a result I have several internal interfaces with private addresses on them, and only one public interface. By trial-and-error I've found out that FWD (SIP) won't work unless I disable my VPN tunnels - it would send the internal IP address to FWD's SIP server instead of public one. I

Migrating to Samba 4.9.4 AD, kinit administrator -> kinit: Cannot contact any KDC for realm...
Hi there
I have migrated from an older version of Samba DC to Samba 4.9.4 AD.
Running Centos 7. One server with everything on... (AD and file server)
Bind 9.9.4
Built from source.
Followed directions in the wiki.
All seems to go fine, but when I startup samba-ad-dc it shows a few errors.
([kdc failed to setup interfaces])
The initial tests (in the directions in wiki) go fine until I get to

Samba 4, DHCP and Bind
Hi All,
I'm trying to integrate Samba 4 DHCPD and Bind 9.9 into a complete solution.
I'm using the BIND/Samba 4 DLZ plugin.
DHCP by itself works and hands out IP addresses.
What I would like to have happen is the following:
- PC is joined to the Samba 4 domain (this works)
- PC gets an IP via DHCPD
- DHCP or the PC registers the IP in BIND
Network PC's should resolve cleanly when

DDNS, DHCP and AD
Looking for general theory here - perhaps this will devolve into more "how
to" later, but right now I need overall understanding.
We handle DHCP outside AD. We also do DDNS there, and handle DNS lookups.
Here's what the current setup looks like
We have a pair of DHCP servers (ISC DHCPD) and those same boxes handle DNS
for the network. They're in the DNS domain of, lets say;

Why won''t this box route ICMP echo reply packets???????
Hi All -
I looked for mention of this in the archives but wasn''t able to find
anything.
This isn''t even an advanced routing question, it should be a dirt-simple,
basic, no-brainer, routine routing job. But I''m not getting it!
I have a Linux iptables based firewall system that is making me crazy. The
gist
of the problem is, even when I turn off all firewall rules

samba4 internal dns Server ddns for the reverse lookup Zone
Hi everybody,
According to my ddns denied problem with bind dlz zone i tried the internal dns server from samba4. The forward lookup zone is still working correctly and do ddns updates for my win7 Client. But when i create the reverse zone with the windows remote admin tools and restart samba4 the ddns isn't working for the reverse zone. No ip adresses will be added. How can i configure

Newbe
Hello all,
I am new to this and I hope this is an easy question.
I would like to use tinc to set up a connection from my home to my office.
I am running windows 7 on both PCs.
The home PC have internet connection via time warner & the office PC via
AT&T DSL.
My goal is to be able to share a folder on the home PC with the office PC to
keep data in one place.
I know I can set up port

Samba_dlz: canceling trasaction on zone domain
Hey Rowland,
Below is a cutdown version of my DHCP. As you can see, I haven't really set anything up for ddns-update. While using Samba4's internal DNS I had the setting 'ddns-update-style interim;' and it seemed to have worked fine. But with bind I'm not sure what else is needed.
Thanks for taking a look at it.
Philip
