ATTN Development TEAM - "invalid mid from server"
Hi,
We are having a problem with smbclient running tar back to a FreeBSD
system for Amanda. smbclient seems to be choking on large files. Of the
many singularly uninformative error messages, the primary error* is
"invalid
mid from server"
Searching all FAQ's and news groups shows this has been a problem for
several users since 8/2000 with no published response from anyone

smbclient -b parameter
I've got problems getting files from a win2000 server using smbclient
(see subject "SMBClient & Windows 2000"). I've tried using the -b
parameter (documented in the online man pages) to change the buffersize
in case that might be the problem but the smbclient I'm running doesn't
recognise it. I've installed 2.0.7 on Compaq Tru64, smbclient declares
itself as

NTLM_AUTH failing?
Rowland, I tried that already, but I made two break-throughs. First, I
went to a location where it was working. I realized then that I had put
in the SID for the PPTP group at that location. You know, the
"S-1-15-xyz" number? Now while I was there, I noted that they were
running 4.1 stable. I upgraded them to 4.3 stable. Guess what? The VPN
broke! Something with ntlm_auth and 4.3 stable

Extending the storeconfigs database
I''m adding tables to the storeconfigs database, to support my
storereports plugin, and would like some guidance on handling the
schema version.
First prize would see my database extensions applied as migrations.
But then ActiveRecord would want to bump the schema version.
Any ideas on how to handle this gracefully so that I don''t confuse the
hell out of puppet itself, on

Problem with mput * on Tru64 ?
Samba 2.0.7 running on Compaq Tru64 UNIX V5.0A with latest tru64
patches.
"mget *" works OK, "mput *" or something like "mput *.bat" fails with
the error message "find: bad option -maxdepth".
Several questions - Anyone else come across this one? Would dropping
back to 2.0.6 fix the problem? Could it be an issue with 2.0.7 on Tru64
V5?

Kernel downgrade?
Hi list!
I've been bitten by a bug in the latest kernel 2.6.9-34.EL and I already
removed the old kernel.
Are old kernels retained at any place? I need to go back to 2.6.9-22.02
but where can I find it? In the Centos 4.3 directory I find only the
latest kernel, not the older ones?
Thanks!!

NTLM_AUTH failing?
Andrew, I use git very little and would not know how to do what you ask.
The good news is that the server is used only for VPN. However, it runs
Samba 3.6 as a member. Our DCs are running Samba 4 and that is where the
issue is. I do have two different setups though.
Client A:
Single DC upgraded from 4.1-stable to 4.3-stable. The VPN server runs ON
the DC due to limited resources. So Samba4 and

Question on Deploying a Ferret DRb server
(Sorry if some people see this twice. I originally posted this question
from ruby-forum.com, but didn''t realize that the Ferret forum was a
mirror and that I actually wasn''t a member.)
Anyway,
I''ve read all the documentation I could find, and read most of this
forum, but I''m a still a little confused on running a ferret DRb server.
All the examples seem to be

yum install <olderversion> does not downgrade
We're using ansible to configure our CentOS 6 servers, and we have a
task to install a specific version of a package:
- name: install thrift2
yum: name=ripencc-thrift2-{{ version }}
In this ansible task, the "version" variable is set by the operator.
When we want to upgrade, it works. But today we had to downgrade, and
noticed that ansible wasn't downgrading it. So we tried

libplasma - no downgrade
I tried, last night, to downgrade kdelibs, I think it is, to resolve the
libplasma crash that we talked about yesterday... and yum told me there
was no upgrade or downgrade. I'm sort of assuming that I'd have to go back
to 6.4... unless I need to add a repo - the vault? wget it, and downgrade
it locally?

OT: Cisco 7961 SIP downgrade from 8.3.3 -> 8.0.4SRS2 failing
Hi,
My apologies for the OT. My googling came up empty and hopefully there
are some members in the community that could give me a hint how to solve
this issue:
Cisco 7961 with SIP firmware 8.3.3. Needed to downgrade it to 8.0.4SRS2.
The downgrade process started off good. The 7961 got it's IP address via
DHCP, found it's SEP<mac>.cnf.xml file and started to "upgrade"

problems with apache downgrade
There was an upgrade on a couple of our servers yesterday, mid-afternoon
our time, of httpd and httpd-devel, and suddenly SiteMinder (bleah)
stopped working correctly, and is now pegging a cpu, according to top. So,
as a last resort, I tried downgrading both of them. When I did so, the
server that uses ssl *erased* mod-ssl, not downgrading it, and I'll have
to find where I can get the previous
