can't turn off password complexity requirements
Hello,
I'm unsing Ubuntu 14.4 Server and samba 4.1.6-Ubuntu. Everything
works great but I somehow fail to switch off the password complexity
requirements. It is not unlikely that this is because I'm very
unexperienced with Windows. I've heard that the password-settings are
always a bit tricky and I did exactly what the windows-tutorials say.
I've tried gpresult for

creating an ubuntu package of version 4.1.0
Hi,
to build an ubuntu-package of samba4.1.0, I'm using a slightly
modified debian package-configuration from a previous version. I created
a quilt-patch (attached to this email) that sets the DISABLE_NTDB var
again, to solve dependency problems.
It's compiling nicely now, but I still get this linker-error:
default/source3/lib/util_58.o: In function `str_checksum':

Where do I get detailed information about oplock-types and possible errors?
Hello,
I would like to know, what the oplock 'EXCLUSIVE+BATCH' exactly
means. Does anybody know a good manual about samba's oplocks?
Could it possibly cause oplock-trouble and even disconnections, if
a user is constantly logged in on one AD-workstations and also
frequently accesses network files from a WinXP+SP2 workstation (that is
not part of the AD-Domain) via

Data.frame manipulation
Hi All,
I'm conducting a meta-analysis and have taken a data.frame with multiple
rows per
study (for each effect size) and performed a weighted average of effect size
for
each study. This results in a reduced # of rows. I am particularly
interested in
simply reducing the additional variables in the data.frame to the first row
of the
corresponding id variable. For example:

Row to Column help
Dear R Community,
I am attempting to transpose a dataset from rows to columns but am stuck. I
have tried using reshape() with little luck, possibly due to the categorical
nature of the data. For example:
id<-c(1,2,2,3,3,3)
author<-c("j","k","k","l","l","l")

sip.conf and SIP client host= not recognized in some cases
I am seeing an issue with getting certain sip devices to be recognized as
defined SIP clients host= in the sip.conf and the only deference that I can
find btw sources that work and don't work is that devices that send packets
with an Initial Via header of themselves appears to work and pick the
context correctly but those that don't have the Via just get dropped in the
context of the

[WISH / PATCH] possibility to split string literals across multiple lines
Hi,
I would really like to have a way to split long string literals across
multiple lines in R.
Currently, if a string literal spans multiple lines, there is no way to
inhibit the introduction of newline characters:
> "aaa
+ bbb"
[1] "aaa\nbbb"
If a line ends with a backslash, it is just ignored:
> "aaa\
+ bbb"
[1] "aaa\nbbb"

Band-wise Conditional Sum - Actual problem
Dear R helpers,
Thanks a lot for your earlier guidance esp. Mr Davind Winsemius Sir. However, there seems to be mis-communication from my end corresponding to my requirement. As I had mentioned in my earlier mail, I am dealing with a very large database of borrowers and I had given a part of it in my earlier mail as given below. For a given rating say "A", I needed to have the bad-wise

Connecting to live calls
Hi all,
Is there a way to connect two live calls through the manager api without directing them to a meeting room? Currently, I can connect them by sending them to a meeting room. However, I don't know what the overhead is, and I kind of think that if I can connect them or link them up, the overhead would be minimum.

Can a matrix have 'list' as rows/columns?
After a lot of processing I get a matrix into M. I expected each row and
column to be a vector. But it is a list.
R-Inferno says...
"Arrays (including matrices) can be subscripted with a matrix of positive
numbers. The subscripting matrix has as many columns as there are dimensions
in the array—so two columns for a matrix. The result is a vector (not an
array)

Bi-directional sync for Sysvol folder -- Osync?
Dear Belle,
That produce the similar situation.
Thus I'm trying osync
And the result are much present according to my test case
And configuration are much streamline.
However, I'm not sure how it can work with 2 DC or more...
Thank You

Not routing for 1 host?
Hi,
I want to stop routing for 1 particular host in my network. I thought that this would do it:
iptables -D INPUT -d aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd -j DROP
iptables -D INPUT -s aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd -j DROP
But that still shows traffic. What is the corract way to do that?

Bi-directional sync for Sysvol folder -- Osync?
Hi,
I was thinking about bidirectional sync of sysvol and i've a question:
?What about DRBD?. You can create a disk partition in every node, create a
DRBD cluster and then mount that partition on sysvol folder. The
sincronization is bidirectional and in real time.
For now i've not tested this option, but i've plans to start some tests.
What is your opinion about this?
Greetings!!

I have been setuped exim and dovecot.
Exim uses dovecot-lda to deliver mails to mailbox.
Some configurations of exim:

Bi-directional sync for Sysvol folder -- Osync?
Hello Min Wai Chan,
?
Can you explain more about,, the DC1 will remove any emptey directory on DC1.
tested it here, but that does not occure here.
i can create empty directories on DC1, and these are synced to DC2. empty or not.
?
?DC1 will overwrite any users/group change on DC2?
if setup correctly, your sysvol rights on DC1 and DC2 are the same..

i suggest you to the following.

var[i]
Dear all,
How could I use variables in a loop that their names are in a vector?
For example:
aaa <- 1:10
bbb <- aaa*2
ccc <- aaa+bbb
varn <- c("aaa", "bbb", "ccc")
m <- rep(NA, 3)
for (i in 1:length(varn)) m[i] <- mean(varn[i]) # wrong
thanks in advance
