Decoding Type=Independent
Hello, I am new to the list, to FLAC and to FLAC development but I am having a problem in trying to make FLAC work with MediaMVP based the mvpmc project (ref. http://www.wvpmc.org) that hopefully someone can help me with. This device is possibly minimum spec. for a FLAC decoder. In any case, I have had some success cross-compiling libFLAC (without the ogg or metadata modules).for the embedded

wavelet transform
Hello, I am thinking about plugging in Discrete Wavelet Transform as described in Vorbis I spec: 1.1.2. Classification Vorbis I is a forward-adaptive monolithic transform CODEC based on the Modified Discrete Cosine Transform. The codec is structured to allow addition of a hybrid wavelet filterbank in Vorbis II to offer better transient response and reproduction using a transform better suited to

plot labeling and expressions
Hi all, I'm trying to use an iteration that appends something to vector 'peaklabels' like so: peaklabelNames <- append( peaklabelNames, substitute(i^{z+phantom()}*" ("*a*"AMU)",list(i="y2",z=2,a=0)) ) The vector is supposed to be used with 'text' to put labels on signals in an impulse plot. While not vectorized

Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-350 card on CentOS 4.X?
Anyone have the Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-350 card running on CentOS 4.X? What about MythTV? One of my users asked me today to upgrade the kernel on his CentOS 4.4 system today as he claims that this card will only work on recent kernels (2.6.16 or newer). I haven't found any documentation to support this (the Linux page on the Hauppauge web site is hopelessly out of date; it mentions

multiple text placements and expressions revisited
Hi all, I asked something like this earlier but decided that a proper minimal example might be helpfull ;0) Why does this work with regards to the expression (substitution): require(stats) plot(cars) text(5,120,labels=substitute(i^{z+phantom()}*"("*a*" AMU)",list(i="yx",z=2,a=0))) text(c(5,5),c(115,110),labels=c("One","Two")) But adding this

exact Core 2 Duo setup supporting Intel-VT
Hi all, I checked the following page but it is not exhaustive: http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/IntelVT (it actually doesn''t even lists Core 2 Duo as supporting Intel-VT [it lists Core Duo though]... I''m not familiar with Wikis, I don''t know how I can change this myself [and I don''t know either if I''m allowed to change it]) Could all the people

CentOS 4.3 on Intel Xeon Core 2 Duo
Dear list, I am planning to buy a new server -because the new Core2 Duo based Xeons (5100 series) are considerably faster in some scenarios than Opteron machines while not beeing more expensive, I would like to hear some real-world experiences from people who have installed CentOS 4.3 or 4.4 on such a setup. Specifically: CPU: 2x Intel Xeon 5100 2GHz Board: Intel S5000 chipset RAID5:

How to set up R for Macbook Pro Intel Core Duo
I just recently purchased a Macbook Pro, Intel Core Duo 2GHz, 512 MB RAM. After looking through several articles in this forum I found the link to the R Mac Wiki. I am not that tech-savy but it appeared to me that this link, http://wiki.urbanek.info/index.cgi?IntelMacR describes how to install R on a Intel Mac Core Duo to utilise the two cores. I have also downloaded and installed the

ext3/ext4 random write performance on ioDrive duo
Hi all, I have evaluated Fusion-io ioDrive duo (PCIe direct attached NAND flash memory storage) on the CentOS 5.4. The experimental result shows the write performance with multiple jobs (processes) on the ext3/ext4 filesystems is lower than that of XFS. The question I have is what is the cause of the ext3/ext4 performance limitation. I have measured the random write performance on several
