mounting an AD share upon login
Hi everyone, I am having trouble mounting a share on my AD server upon login. I am using pam_mount. Here is log activity when user 'peter' logs in (with Ubuntu client) and is authenticated by AD server. There is a share called 'peter' on the server (netbios name WIN2003) and the mount point is /home/PRIVATE/peter (see later for pam_mount.conf file): ===================== Jul

Problem: authorise_login: refusing user with no session setup
Hi, We are running Samba-2.2.6pre2 as a PDC with Win2kSP2-clients and we had the same problem running samba-2.2.5 and Win2k. We had NT4-client running previous versions of samba-2.2.x and have never had the same problem. Samba is compiled from source on Solaris8 running YP. We have everything up and running but sometimes users get a dialog-box just saying "Access denied" when they

NFS mounted directory
Hi, Has anyone any ideas what is causing my smbd processes to crash? The files being accessed via samba are on an NFS mounted directory. In the samba log file I am getting the following errors: [2004/12/03 16:31:33, 0] smbd/oplock.c:request_oplock_break(1026) request_oplock_break: no response received to oplock break request to pid 2181 9 on port 53336 for dev = 2c00002, inode = 297939333

tdb locking issue - Solaris 10 and Samba 3.0.33
(Yes, I should upgrade Samba to 3.0.35). We're running the Sun provided Samba daemon (SUNWsmbau and friends) on Solaris 10 Generic_138888-08 (sparc). Lots of Windows clients (mixed XP, 2003, 2008) hit this server and periodically we'll start seeing smbd processes begin piling up. These processes can't be killed with a normal kill -- only kill -9 will do the trick. In the past

Samba crashes on password change from Windows 2000 clients
Hi, i'm not subscribed to the list so could you please Cc back to me :) Just discovered this problem today when my brother tried to change his password. Windows sat there and eventually said that my domain couldn't be found or something, this seemed very odd so I had a look in the logs and got this show up... Samba 4 AD SmartCard Authentication Problem
Confusing. Github says that is open. Ok. My mistake. The question remains why the Windows clients allow login for an expired certificate despite a correctly loaded CRL. What is the purpose of specifying the CRL in smb.conf? It seems to me that the smartcard login is not really reliable. Then my users still have to log in with password. For now, as long as 4.19 is not yet released. Hans

HP-UX 9 problems (hangs on logout; tty isn't sane)
I'm trying to get OpenSSH 2.5.2p2 to run on HP-UX 9.05. I've had some decent results, but I'm also seeing some problems. I'm using the EGD (I configured with --with-prngd-socket=/tmp/entropy). * Compiling required some changes, which I've attached. Two of the changes are "hackish", and not at all suited to inclusion in the source tree, but they might point

Patch for systems with no setreuid()
Sorry if I'm duplicating an existing patch, but... On systems with no seteuid() that have setreuid() there is an emulation, but if both are lacking (but we do have setresuid()), nothing is done. The following seems to be right, but I've only got one machine (running an ancient version of HP-UX) which needs this so it may not be general: --cut-here-- --- config.h.in.orig Thu Jun 7

Bug in scp
Hi! I don't know much about network programming, or about terminal handling. I wondered about why the command "scp file user at host:path" didn't work. It gave me the following error messages: "stdin: is not a tty" "Write failed flushing stdout buffer." "write stdout: Broken pipe" I tried it with different versions of ssh, first the newest debian

Still Having Problems With Password Authentication for 1.9.18p7
I'm having problems still with password authentication for 1.9.18p7. Samba only recognizes the root password only!!!! I thought password authentication was fixed in version 1.9.18p5. Anyway, here's output of the problems I'm facing: After starting smb and nmb using root's ID the following test was successful: 3 root@Sun-E3000:/usr/local/samba/private ==> smbclient -L

Can't authenticate, from a linux client, against a samba PDC/tdbsam
Hi all, Since September 2006, I've been using a samba PDC (3.0.20) with tdbsam, to authenticate the users of a school network (90 XP boxes). All the users are able to log in the network from XP boxes. mongrel_cluster 0.2.2 - plugin cluster::status does not exist?
Hello all. I''ve recently installed the 0.2.2 pre-release of mongrel_cluster to try out the new --clean option. However, after installing, when I give a simple "mongrel_rails" command, the cluster::status command is not listed. The error I receive when I do try and run the full "mongrel_rails cluster::status" is... ERROR RUNNING
