wine + OpenGL + Counter-Strike
Hi, I'm trying to install wine with OpenGL for a week now... I'm beginning to go mad... :( I tried to compile wine many times. I use XFree86 4.0.2 and nVIDIA 1.0-1251 driver (with ASUS V3400 card, nVIDIA TNT). If anybody have working wine with Half-Life + Counter Strike, please send me the output of wine's ./configure, a wine.conf, an XF86Config file and the output of `ldconfig -p`.

Trouble Running Games using Wine on Ubuntu 10.10
I'm having some trouble running the following games on Ubuntu 10.10 using wine: Counter-strike source/Half Life 2 Warcraft 3/Frozen Throne The games run, but very very slowly (unplayable). I managed to get Counter Strike 1.6 to work fine by setting the renderer to be 'Software' under the Video options, but the other games have no such option (that I'm aware of). I'd never

Re: Dual Monitors -- "nv" v. "nvidia"
From: Richard Humphrey <rlhumphrey at gmail.com> > Thanks that did the trick Although nVidia does put people on the Freedomware "nv" driver, and it can handle multiple framebuffers for Xinerama, VIVO (video in, video out), etc..., the Standardware "nvidia" driver is far easier to deal with for single framebuffer (no Xinerama) multiple displays, VIVO, etc..., in

Counter Strike Source Won't load.
Okay so I have just installed Fedora 16 64-bit. Coming from a Ubuntu user I'm well aware that counter strike source works great under linux. I've been trying to get it to work but every time I try to load it, it loads for a moment and then crashes. I have the proprietary AMD ATI drivers for my ATI Radeon HD 5750. They seem to be rendering fine according to the debugger. I'm currently

Wine and Counter Strike Source Decreasing Frames Per Second
Hello, I'm having a strange problem with counter strike source and wine. I run at about 40fps for the first five minutes.. then with every new round, my fps decreases by about 20%... so by round 5 I'm down to 9 fps. I've tested this with both wine and cedega and get the same results. I'm running Fedora Core 8 on a core 2 duo processor w/ 2gigs of ram and 256MB video card.

Wine Success and Failure report
Hello, (first post) You probably don't want to hear about my Linux-related story, so I'll cut telling you that about 5 months ago I switched from XP to Ubuntu. I've been a C/C++ programmer since I was 13 (2 years go), so I consider myself to understand a great deal of things (but hey, what is my opinion worth nowadays?) Anyway, In this post I'd like to report my Successes and

City of Heroes / wine not identifying NVIDIA video card
I've been using wine for some time now to play City of Heroes and overall I've been very satisfied. One issue that has always bothered me is that COH gives a warning about outdated video card drivers even with the most recent drivers from NVIDIA installed. This limits the settings that can be chosen in the video options. I also suspect it's not making the most efficient use of my

Can't get anything to run on WINE using Nvidia drivers
Hi, I'm moving my games from my laptop to my desktop, however the games don't run. I can get installation screens, loading screens etc. but nothing past that. Have followed all instructions from AppDB and have everything set up the same as on my laptop where the games work. I have a feeling it has something to do with the nvidia proprietary drivers (using the xorg-edgers PPA). Here's
