Fatal: setgid from userdb lookup fails with wrong gid
Hello all, I'm quite new as well to Dovecot, just installed it on a FreeBSD system with Postfix and Rspamd as side apps. Things are running semi-smoothly for all users but I do have quite a few errors in the logs : Oct 13 19:43:56 apollo dovecot[24478]: imap(user1)<34412><zIeI9ZCxXDmsFhZG>: Fatal: setgid(1030(user1) from userdb lookup) failed with euid=1022(user4),

Fatal: setgid from userdb lookup fails with wrong gid
Hi, Not sure if this is it, but I used to have the same error when I started with dovecot. Aki's response was the following (and solved my problem). ------------- Hi! You can't set service imap { service_count = 256 } if you are using multiple system UIDs. See https://wiki.dovecot.org/Services#imap.2C_pop3.2C_submission.2C_managesieve *service_count* can be changed from 1 if only a

how to deliver when username and email differ
I have an Active Directory virtual setup and am using LDA to deliver to local recipients. Today I found a big problem with my configuration and not sure if this is fixable. Some of the users have multiple email addresses and the %n variable for user doesn't match their actual username. So if I have realname "Joe Bob" with a username of "joe" and an email of "jbob at

Table names
Can I use the table name "adm_users" (mysql)? Will that give the model name "adm_user"? Or should it be "admusers" and "admuser"? -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

deleted-to-trash plugin problems
We have a user who wants to use Outlook with our Dovecot IMAP server but doesn't like the way Outlook handles deletion with IMAP. Ironically she would like Outlook to move the message to her Trash folder, just like Outlook does with "local" folders, I guess. So I enabled the "deleted-to-trash" plugin (v0.3) on our Dovecot 1.2.17 server (built for SPARC, solaris 10,

doveadm purge -A via doveadm-proxy director fails after some users
Hi, we have configured userdb and passdb in the director and try to iterate all users and pass the "purge" command via doveadm proxy to port 19000 on the correct director backend host. A single purge -u username at example.org via doveadm-proxy works correctly, but iterating over some users with -A fails. Note: users/domains have been anonymized in output:

So we have two different Samba servers we are trying to connect to what was originally a Windows 2003 AD and was raised to 2008R2 (both Forest and Domain). (We really only need to connect one of them - the one hosting Samba 4.7.6). Any ideas or suggestions are helpful! We've scoured the lists (Rowland - you are amazing), but still not found what is wrong (we think it is probably a config

Prohibit removing INBOX
Hello list, I'm using dovecot 1.1.11 and I'm going to prohibit users to remove their INBOX and some other directories in the mailbox root. I used Access Control Lists (http://wiki.dovecot.org/ACL) to do this: protocol imap { mail_plugins = acl } plugin { # With global ACLs in /etc/dovecot/acls/ directory: acl = vfile:/etc/dovecot/acls } /etc/dovecot/acls/.DEFAULT: owner

doveadm proxy list repeats header line
Hi all, just a minor thing: Why does `doveadm proxy list` repeat the header line after each entry? Too me, that just makes the output harder to read. So instead of this: root at mail1 ~ # doveadm proxy list username proto src ip dest ip port info at domain1.de imap 80.152.196.98 222.133.127.53 993 username service src-ip dest-ip

adding Windows Domain users to a unix group
Hi All, Just joined the list. The postings are very helpful for me to implementing samba for my work place. I am running samba 3.0.1 or RED HAT 9.0. Does anybody know how to add Windows domain users to a linux usergroup? My PDC is running Windows 2000. I do not have permissions to create groups on the Windows PDC. Windbind is working fine on the Redhat machine. I can map to the linux samba
